    Really Depressed Today!

I just tested my levels and they are 6.6 great! I try to low carb if I can. I eat a lot of vegetables. I am a vegetarian so the fat would have to come from cheese and nuts. I do have a weakness for pasta though! I have been on annual leave from work this week so have been putting away more...

    Really Depressed Today!

Thanks for the hugs. My team are not too bad. But they do have their moments. I still live with my mum and I have 3 pets 2 dogs and a cat. You are right they do keep you mostly sane. I am chatting with a friend and she says I need to give up the drink totally. I have an aching pancreas and I...

    Really Depressed Today!

I woke up today and my neuropathy is really bad. I also have numb fingers. I'm blaming the few drinks I had last night. Finding it really hard to cope emotionally thinking a lot about death. Suicidal ideation, that sort of thing. I am only 39. Type 2 controlled by meds but I worry about being...

    Buzzing feet

Thanks. I hope the meds help my feet. I don't think I could cope with any much more pain. I have to walk all day for a living.

    Buzzing feet

Hi all, sorry for the slow reply. The doc said it is the start of neuropathy. I have been a bit upset. He did reassure me and tell me it isn't my fault and that sometimes no matter how good your control is, it can just happen. I have been prescribed 60mg of Duloxetine for two months to see if...

    Buzzing feet

I have an appointment with the doctor today. For the last 2 weeks I have felt like there is a mobile phone attached to my feet and someone is calling them. To begin with this was a slight annoyance, but now with every 'buzz' there is painful pins and needles. I have obviously asked Dr Google and...

    Taking my diabetes seriously

This thread has realy spoken to me. I am in the process of getting back on track after being frustrated with the doctors and constant high BG, I had just said 'To hell with it!' and stopped taking my meds. I am now in a new physically active job and I am really feeling the effects of my D. So...

    Forxiga

I am OK with it. It makes my wee smell like toffee popcorn but other than that no issues... well apart from it not lowering my BG.

    Hypos On Metformin?

Try and see a doctor. I am on Metformin, linagliptin and forxiga and it was only after I kept ending up in A&E with hypos that they decided to give me a meter. Explain that it would only be used when you felt wobbly. It is so important to know what is going on in your body and a meter helped me...

Back to the docs I go!

It was my original doctor that said I didn't fit the bill. I also never responded to Metformin the way they hoped. My docs exact words were 'You are not the usual age range and you are not THAT fat' So I was kept off work for 3 months so they could monitor me. And then I was given linagliptin...

Back to the docs I go!

Well. I have been. Doctor was amazingly nice and he is getting more bloods taken. He has Doubled my blood pressure medication for the time being and will be taking my next blood results and going from there. He has also said that he is pretty sure I am type 2 but he will be keeping a closer eye...

Back to the docs I go!

I might just keep quiet an look at him cold and hard... :bored: Se where he goes himself. Usually I mention insulin and they automatically get defensive. I will explain that I am a vegetarian and that it is not like I sit at home and eat burgers all day, nice salads for me. I don't follow a...

Back to the docs I go!

So after going to A&E last week and being told to speak to my own doctor, I finally got word back that my HbA1c was high. I don't know the number as I was told this over the phone. I was then told that I would need to see a diabetic specialist. I then chatted with the receptionist on the phone...

    Type 1.5 Bloods at 18.5

I got to the nurse for her to take blood and asked her outright if I have ever been tested for GAD antibodies, she looked at her monitor, then back at me and said "I haven't a clue.." Part of this confusion is that they don't know what type I am, my first diagnoses was 'adult onset' and then...

    Type 1.5 Bloods at 18.5

Sitting at 10 after fasting (and being up all night peeing) I will probably have to wait until my results come back before they give me another pill to take. My last HBA1C was 6 and that is what he referred to. I will see what my results are before asking for an endocrinologist. Maybe sooner. I...

    Type 1.5 Bloods at 18.5

Went to the doc. Absolutely point blank refused insulin and said there are more Meds to try before that and that insulin is a last resort. Have to go back later to get blood taken. I even pleaded that the side effects are driving me crazy. The doc never even offered extended release Metformin.

    Type 1.5 Bloods at 18.5

Well, that was a waste of time. They tested my BG and it was 20. Took my temp and it was fine, doc said, go home get some rest and see your own doctor in the morning... #fedup :( :(
