** Possible Boots The Chemist Alert **

I've also had problems with our local Boots. Order repeat script on, say, Monday - collect Wednesday...not always ready and told to call back later! Also, if I order script a week before I run out, I am told I ordered 'too early' and have to call back! What happens if I go on holiday and need...

    Can shock cause diabetes?

So sorry to hear of your losses, Daphne917. That was an awful year for you. My husband finally saw the Nurse at our surgery tonight....bloods taken, BP quite high, ketones present. He is to see the GP on Thursday of this week. I'd like to thank everyone yet again for your support and...

    Can shock cause diabetes?

His family are all as stubborn as he is! Our kids (aged 41 & 44) have repeatedly asked, told and begged him to go to the GP, to no avail. However, it appears he is somewhat willing to go and register with my GP, where they will give him a health check, so we'll see what happens next week.

    Can shock cause diabetes?

Oh dear! Some sad stories there, but thank you for sharing. His BS at 5pm tonight was 15.4, so has increased from this morning, but not by much. Still too high though. He now has an eye infection...had this for a couple of days, saying there is something in his eye...stuck closed in the...

    Can shock cause diabetes?

Thank you, TorqPenderloin for your interesting take on this. Yes, I need to try to find out why he is being so stubborn over this issue, but he has always been this way (his family are the same!) However, I tested him at 7.45am (today) and his BS was down to 14.4, which is still high, but has...

    Can shock cause diabetes?

I agree. But short of physically dragging him out of the house, I just don't know what else I can do. He says he feels fine, and that is one of the reasons he ate what he did today, thinking because he felt well, his BS was down.

    Can shock cause diabetes?

Just an update on my husband. He has refused to visit his GP, and has attempted to lower his BS himself, which he did, the lowest reading being 12.5 (still too high, I know). However, when he came home from work tonight, I insisted I tested him (hadn't done it for a few weeks).....he was very...

    Can shock cause diabetes?

Hi everyone.....my husband had a bad fall a month ago, and blacked out...ambulance called as it was feared he had broken his back...fortunately he hadn't..just cracked ribs. He had a thorough examination by the paramedics, and all was normal (ECG, oxygen levels, BP) However his blood sugar was...

Am I having side effects of metformin?

Hi Mike....thank you for your reply. Not sure how to post the correct terminology for readings, but when first diagnosed, my HbA1c was 119, which reduced to 78 then to 58. My blood glucose readings when first diagnosed was 21.5. I t now fluctuates between 9.0 - 15.0 (first thing in the...

Am I having side effects of metformin?

Hi everyone.....I have read this thread with interest. Diagnosed last year, but I knew for a long time before that it was possible I had diabetes, as I had most of the symptoms. I eventually had to go to my GP, as I had a dreadful yeast-like infection. Was informed a few days later I was T2...

X-pert course - I was told no need to test?

Hi. Not sure if this is the correct thread to post the following.....my apologies if it's not. I attended a Desmond course on Monday, and the group were given Diastix to test urine. I used mine for the first time today, I wee'd on the stick, (which was turquoise), timed it for 30 seconds as...
