    Type 1 and pregnant!

I was diagnosed as type 1 around 15 months ago. I'm on twice daily levemir and humalog. I have struggled a lot to come to terms with my diagnosis since then but got myself on the DAFNE course in August and seem to be doing a lot better with my control since then. It wasn't perfect still but a...

    Depression and diabetes

I am doing carb counting and using the carbs and cals book. So I'm doing it as accurately as possible but still my blood sugars are ridiculously high. For example, I tested my blood before tea it was 16.5 so I've bolused for what I've eaten and taken 3 extra units to correct(as I've been told 1...

What are your hypo symptoms? & how low do you get before you see them?.

I honestly don't know how the little boy looked so well at 1.5! I would too be a sweaty shaky mess. My legs just go like jelly and I can't stand. My weirdest symptom is having no concentration, I feel spaced out and forget what's happening in the room. My daughter was in her high chair when I...

Oh and ' I do just have to eat so I can take the insulin that's just how it's going to be' That's not how it should be is it? Surely the insulin should work round me and my eating patterns? Or have I got this totally wrong?

    Type 1 Please help

It was a right waste of time seeing the consultant. He basically said I'm definitely type 1 but in the honeymoon period. They suggested I increase my mixed insulin doses. I'm really ****** off (sorry for swearing) I told him I'm struggling to eat and everything else, it just seems they've...

    Hypo symptoms at 4.4mmol/l: normal?

I can tell when my bs drops below 5. I start having symptoms around 4.5. The my Dsn said it's not technically a hypo. Even though I get the shakes, sweat and everything to go with it.

    Type 1 Please help

For how much I told her I eat anyway I don't understand why I'm on the mixed insulin. My calorie intake isn't enough and I've had lots of hypos which make me feel even worse. I think she wanted me to see a dietician first which isn't until the 10th nov. It seems like a lifetime away.
