    Injections

I'm not new to this at all but I'm petrified of needles, even when doing them to myself. I'm always really slow and hesitate and I know in the long run that causes much more pain. I don't have any diabetic friends to talk about this either. Hope you're feeling better about it all x

    Basal / Bolus Ratios

I take 35 levimir and on a 1:10 ratio with novorapid. Reading through the forums it sounds like I'm on a very high dose of my basal.

Discussion SpotOn - an insulin dosage prediction app

If you're still looking for testers then I'll give it a go. I have to record every little thing in my phone anyway. It sounds promising if it works

    New type 1

As long as you're feeling ok and that you're adjusting well there's no need for you to take time off if you don't wish to. If I were you I'd maybe take some time to work out your insulin needs and what not. But it all depends on how you're feeling with it all. :) Good luck

    POTS

Thank you. I though with my doctor refusing to even do a stand test that maybe I was being a little silly pursuing it. I see a diabetes specialist in the morning so maybe she'll give me some help. :)

    Help

I don't remember having any stomach problems. Celiac and just gluten sensitivity as well as lactose intollerance could be to blame. Best waiting for your results though before you try looking for another answer x

    POTS

Hello there!! I'm currently pushing for a test for POTS myself!! I spoke to a GP today who refused to have me tested because it's "such a rare condition" and symptoms don't sound right. He said I have anxiety and ibs. My heart rate is always above 90 and shoots up towards 130 when standing...

    10 years and not coping

I completely understand where youre coming from. I'm the same. Sometimes it's like looking around you and all these people are doing really well and you just can't understand how they do it or why you can't. The best advice I can give is to just always remember that you've made it this far...

    Repeated DKA

I don't use a pump. I inject myself novorapid before meals and levimir of a night. If I increase the doses I'm currently taking I end up having lots of hypos and still have ketones (readings above 0.6)

    Repeated DKA

I have always been confident in adjusting my insulin. I inject in my legs so my injection site is changed every time. I've had them looked at too and there's no problems. Like I said, when my levels go up I'm able to bring them down but after a few hours they'll start to rise again. I'm not...

    Counselling and Diabetes?

I got help but it was too little too late. Diabetes changes everything about your life, what future you can have, relationships with both family and friends, diet, what you can enjoy. It's unreal. I was 13. It's not something you can just shrug your shoulders and get on with. Hopefully I'll be...

    Repeated DKA

Hi guys. I've been having a lot of problems with my blood sugars lately where they're going high and showing high levels of ketones on an almost daily basis. I can take extra doses of insulin to bring my levels down but after a while they just shoot right back up. Even when my blood sugars are...

    IBS

I've been tested and it came back negative for celiac. Since trying the fodmap diet I've cut gluten and lactose out of my diet. It helps a lot. However to have myself tested now I need to reintroduce the two to my diet and it's just not worth the pain. I just want an answer. Someone to tell me...

    Zombie attack/end of the world

I'm the event of the aapocalypse I have already given my friends instruction to shoot me. I'd only slow them down. Even if I had access to insulin Jay not have access to food. You can't run when your hypo x
