    Rough week, honeymoon over?

I've had a really depressing week with the big D, since diagnosis over a year ago I've gradually dropped my A1c down to 5.5, really good control and really nice numbers until a couple of weeks ago when things started climbing. I used to inject 6 lantus at night and 1 unit per 7 carbs of...

    Third HbA1c results are in

To be honest I'm a pretty bad diabetic, I drink, I eat what I want and eat sweet things a few times a week :( I just seem to be really good at carb counting and judging bolus :) I do also test at least 7 times a day.

Double Digits! Good or Evil!? >;)

I'm pretty much solid at 5g carbs to 1 unit of novorapid so most of my meals are double figure injections.

If you were to walk into McDonalds...

I would inject 11 for that (5g carbs is 1unit for me) I have no problem at dirty ronnies (macdonalds) or Burger King. The carbs and cals app has near everything listed. At BK I order a triple whopper with cheese supersize meal with fries and a coke zero and inject 14 units of novorapid and...

Whats the most amount of fast acting insulin you've injected to cover a meal?

I run about 5g carbs to 1 unit of novorapid. On pancake day I decided to treat myself with proper pancakes with sugar and lemon, figured 90g carbs for two so injected 18 units.. Worked out alright :)

    Artifical sweeteners

Splenda is the best so far, I use it for Irish coffees :) still don't replace the sugar in tea for me though :(

    Artifical sweeteners

I've been T1 since October and used to have 3 sugars in coffee and tea, the coffee I now drink black and after getting used to it quiet like it! Tea however is different, still tastes MINGING without at least one sugar so I only have one as a treat. I tried candarel, stevia and the tesco...

Pancakes - who's having them tonight?

I had two big proper ones with sugar and lemon, friggin wonderful and I judged the bolus spot on :)

    Pancake day

I figured **** it I'm having me a treat so made proper pancakes with sugar and lemon. Based off the carbs and cals app they are 44g of carbs each and I had two so injected a healthy (my biggest ever) 18 unit shot of novorapid and went for it... And looking at my numbers pretty much nailed it...

    Possible diabetes

My first test after a brown tuna sandwich and a cup of tea was 27 next day had a fasting at 19. I'm gonna take a punt and say your type 2 and will have a lifelong relationship with metformin. Most important thing is chin up, it's not the end of the world or life as you know it, I've just made...
