Switching pump while still in warranty? So many problems

I'm not sure if you carry out the same procedure as I do, but I have always found it useful to move the plunger forward and backwards a few times, to ensure the seal is bedded in. You can then start filling the tube as normal. Its worked well for me over the last 5 years.

Just Started New FAST Acting INSULIN “ Lyumjev “ Any Help Please

Hi everyone, I've been a diabetic for 43 years and have had several types of insulin over that period. I had been using Fiasp on my Medtronic pump, but it's effectiveness had dwindled quite considerably, making it almost a guessing game when infusing. My Consultant offered me a go on Lyumjev and...

    Type 1 Morning Insulin Resistance

I've eventually come to the conclusion that the Dawn Phenomenom is going to remain the bane of my life. I have tried every conceivable way of trying to combat it and have finally realised that I just need to pump whatever it takes in order to keep my sugars from rising to sharply to sometimes...

    Exactly that ;)

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I sometimes have to pump large amounts of insulin to do this such as on pancake day lol. Sometimes my sugars will reach high ish levels, but I know that usually within 2hrs they will usually start coming down. Sometimes it literally is guess work, but I'm prepared to take on more carbs if that's...

    TIR or Hba1c?

I learnt in a recent diabetic conference, that for a much safer chance of not developing complications, a diabetic must stay in the range of 4 - 10 for a minimum of 70%. The risks of complications such as retinopathy increase dramatically if this control is not maintained. I've just returned...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

:)Just came back from the clinic and was informed that I had a hbA1 of 6.1 or 43%. This was my first hbA1 on my new Medtronic 670g pump so was very pleased with my results. I have been a Type1 diabetic for 41 years and basically eat what I want and when I want, so to get control of this nature...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Just came back from the clinic and was informed that it was 6.1 or 43%. Really pleased with this as it is my first hbA1 with my new Medtronic 670g pump. And this result is basically eating what I want at whatever times I want as well. This pump rocks:)

    Minimed 670G

Hi @Gaz-M, I've been on the 670g since June 1st and have been really happy with the control that it is giving me. It can however take a little mastering to start off with but with like anything else, 'practice makes perfect'. I find that I am now showing I am in range for never less than 86% in...

    Cannula stops working during use?

I am useing the MiniMed Mio cannula for the last 7 months and have recently started experiencing absorption issues. It is a very frustrating experience trying to lower my sugars by putting abnormally large doses of insulin in. I then find that many hours further on, the insulin finally starts to...

    Type 1'stars R Us

It also suspends when it sees a sharp rate of decline so its not just only used for a low of 3.9.

    Type 1'stars R Us

Yes that's correct but only for basal dosages. The next model that has been developed will also give correction dosages as well. My pump normally reduces any small over dosing that I might have done.

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

Really sorry to hear about your troubles with the pump. I totally understand where you are coming from with the incessant alarms and all I can advise is to switch them all off except for the high and low blood sugar alarms. That helped a lot with me. I also think that what this pump proves is...

Thinking about the pump option as a T1

I am a Type 1 and injected for 38years. Since going onto a pump I have never looked back. I am currently on the Medtronic 670g pump and it allows me to basically have the freedom to eat when I want. I have started writing a blog on my experiences with this pump at...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

There's definitely a lot to learn with this new pump that's for sure. My take on all of these hiccups with this new pump, is that it's a positive step in the right direction for Type 1 diabetes and that people who are a little unsure, should try and embrace it for the help it can offer them in...

    Fiasp Duration

I use Fiasp with my Medtronic 670g pump and have programmed it for a 3hr time span. I normally have to pump more insulin 2 - 4 hrs after a high G.I. meal but it's having a pump makes this process far easier. When I was using a syringe, I just accepted that I would more than likely have to...

    Upgrading the 640g to 670g

I'm not sure why there is such a wide margin in your two blood sugar results as I have never experienced that sort of difference. But what I do know is that if there is more than a 35% difference between the pump B.S. reading and the sample B.S. reading, then the pump cannot carry out a...

Delivery after reconnecting post a swim

Hi Claire, I've just swum 84 lengths today and the way I work it is, I suspend the dosage and turn my sensor connection off. I try to get my sugars at around 9 and normally find they come down to around 6ish after the swim. All of us will differ and it all depends how hard you work on your swim...
