    Metering timescale

As a T2 now on insulin, I have to test before meals. Every so often, I'm in a rush, and I forget to test immediately before, but only after I've had a few bites. Just how long does it take before anything you eat is reflected in your BS?

    Type 2 Getting tingling sensation

I have both Type 2 diabetes (on insulin) and secondary progressive MS, so quite a lot to put up with. I have had diabetes since 1990 and MS (diagnosed) in 2000 (with some VERY nasty symptoms before the diagnosis). Been on insulin since 1997 and on Copaxone since 2003 (it's helped, no major...

    Metformin and me

I am T2 and have been taking Metformin SR 1000 mg bd for a lot of years now. Coupled to that I also have MS Secondary progressive so you can probably guess that I am on a LOT of tablets. As far as I (and my doctors) can tell, none of the problems I have are down to any of the tablets I take...

    Meter consistency

The GlucoRx Nexus is a TD-4277. That is not the meter in the report. However, there are other reports that I can find that also don't think very highly of the GlucoRx offerings. That seems at odds with their statement that " All GlucoRx Nexus meters comply with the requirements of ISO...

    Meter consistency

Now that throws up some interesting numbers. I have actually done 2 control solution tests on both meters. For the Verio they are 40% and 65%. For the Nexus they are 51% and 48%. I was always concerned about the range of the values for the test solution. It looks like the Nexus is better. Yes, I...

    Meter consistency

I had been using a LifeScan UltraSmart meter for years, until I was informed that the strips would be withdrawn as it didn't conform to the latest ISO standard. In its place I was given a VerioIQ that, right from the start, gave me problems with the strips it used, That was replaced with a...

    Lifescan VerioIQ meter

I am type 2, on lots of pills and Insulin (levemir). Been diabetic for a long, long time. I had been using a Lifescan Ultrasmart meter for years. My records go back to 1997 and was testing urine before that (until I went on Insulin). I was informed that the strips for the Ultrasmart were being...
