Mine are a bit higher than normal. I was told I had to low carb but eat more than I was.. so getting the insulin right at the moment. You? Hows your hba1c? My last was 41 but im dreading the next :(

Im 27 with type 2. On 2000mg of met and humulin at night. Probably starting humalog tomorrow after review. I just got told 38 weeks, havent been given a date yet, im 14 weeks at the moment.

13 weeks. Diabetic team at the hospital only saw me last week and were really shocked I hadnt been referred to them at 6 weeks. Good old NHS!

How did it go?

Fasting result is the only decent one at the moment. Since becoming pregnant ive been unable to control my sugars.. even low carbing, so im on insulin at night due to high fasting results and now possibly looking at the day time too :( 5.6 this morning and been 8/9 for the rest of the day.

I quit then 6 weeks later found out I was 4 weeks pregnant.. thats a really good incentive not to start again lol. Its actually been really easy but I think its more down to not having the option to smoke and not drinking, which was always when I caved. Good luck with it all!

Had my diabetes consultant appointment today and got my hba1c result at 41. So was very impressed but my joy was short lived. Due to high bp and diabetes im at an increased risk of blood clots so I have to inject myself every night with a blood thinner and ive been precribed insulin. I feel...

Mine are getting really bad. All I want to eat is bread, pastry, cake, chips etcetc. I dont know how to cope. Im so sad :(

Pregnancy seems to be doing me wonders. I can now eat pasta! Wholegrain anyway. 1.5 hours I was 6.3.. 2 hours 5.5 last time I tried it I spiked to 10!! Very odd but im not complaining.

Thanks for the replies. Midwife said speak to the diabetic team and take vitamins. Have an appointment with them next week. Just really dont trust the NHS advise :( but scared im not eating properly for the child. *sigh*

Is the low carb high fat diet Ok for pregnancy? I am very carb sensitive and my DN doesnt understand this. Not sure what I should be eating.

I spoke with my gp on the phone. Have a midwifes appointment on tuesday so will find out then. Im taking pregnacare each day at the moment. That has folic acid in it

Had time to calm down a bit now. Very excited / worried though!
