    fruit tea's and snack-a-jacks

Are these 'ok' to eat with gestational diabetes? I'm wondering if they effect anyone's sugar levels. I love fruit tea but the natural sugars in fruit send my readings high, would it be the same for teas? (excuse me if it's a silly Q) Another thing is snack a jacks are currently on offer, this...

    confusing readings.

Tested after dinner and my reading was 7.3, for dinner I had homemade vegetable soup. Nothing with it. I drink alot of tea but I don't have sugar in it and I have a tiny drop of lactose free milk. As for bread, I have one slice of seed sensations. Nhs said I can have green bananas, apples, an...

    confusing readings.

I have been testing on the hour of finishing my meals today, Istarted off that way but got confused about the two hour thing. Iv never grown up with any one around me suffering from it so very new to me. This morning my test was 5.6, after breakfast (natural yogurt, unripened banana and some...

    confusing readings.

Iv had a number of problems with this particular hospital andit really wouldn't suprise me if iv been misdiagnosed so just trying to figure it all out as I'm finding it stressful. My other half grew up with diabetic family members and says my levels are rediculously low for someone who's...

    take aways and gestational diabetes?

So I would be ok with a dry meat dish, maybe a kebab and a veg/salad side? I love a fresh kebab, not keen on sauces, have to really fancy them and when I do have a curry, I never go for a cream based one. Plus I havent got much in for dinner, poorly toddler, if take away is ok as a one off...

    take aways and gestational diabetes?

My body seems to handle sugary foods well, in the means of fruit and the odd chocolate treat. But when it comes to carbs my sugar levels rocket from a 4 to 8+, cant even have a pack of crisps it seems! - I'm still learning, iv changed my diet greatly but have been told to feel free and...

    confused, not convinced!

I wasn't even tested for diabetes before pregnancy, when I asked my doctor said there was no need and to just take even more antibiotics! They keep refusing to do tests to get to the bottom of the issue :( & thank you, hopefully happier, less stressful times do lay ahead.

    confused, not convinced!

Thank you for your helpful replies! It's starting to make some sence but I'm sure there are plenty more to learn. Iv been advised to continue with this diet change for the foreseeable future to try and avoid it 'coming back' if I don't remain diabetic. Tested this morning before breakfast, my...

    confused, not convinced!

I wasn't explained about tests etc, but I'm going to assume a reading of 9.6 on this test at the age of 24 year old, pregnant who weighs 12stone (9 before pregnancy) with a good diet - Ieat too much fruit though apparently, and enjoy a sweet treat but all meals seem to me, to be healthy. Iv...

    confused, not convinced!

Regarding testing, I was told to test before eating. Then an hour after finishing the meal. Apparently I shouldn't test aftersnacks (i have, curiosity got the better of me) when I first wake up or any other times. Strictly before and after breakfast, lunch and dinner and one reading before going...

    confused, not convinced!

Thank you for your reply! I had a test that involves two blood tests, first prior not to eating since the previous night, then was asked to drink lucazade fast and was tested two hours after the drink. Looking online it seems some people work in whole numbers (48 etc) and some work in points...

    confused, not convinced!

Hi all, New to the forum but after some advice. Last week I had a GTT, I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant with other complications so obviously this is something I didn't need. No one does obviously. My fasting results came back perfectly fine. My glucose test came back 9.6 (they got me to drink...
