Why I think all diabetics should have a CGM

Ive had a Cgm for 8 days! Overall I've always (8years) had pretty good control, but this (dexcom) is giving me much more understanding and I'm delighted to have it. Yesterday I shut down the transmitter and restarted it with the same sensor. This morning it's looking unreliable, with ??? and...

    CMG

I've just bought a Cgm (dexcom) and have been using it for a week. I am convinced! It's not a cure and it doesn't solve every problem- but it's half way there. My control is good and has been since diagnosis, 8 years ago, but I was having too many ups and downs and after just a few days I feel...

CGM - anyone got one on NHS?

I'm very excited by the idea a Cgm, but the price is a bit off putting ! Does anyone know how the dexcom G5 will compare and when it will be available? I don't use a pump and I can't imagine the nhs paying, so I'm also interested in any consensus about the cheapest place to buy. Thanks

Dexcom CGM sensors have just gone from expensive to ridiculous!

I'm thinking of getting a Cgm and am interested in thee comments. I think I can justify £1000 upfront cost but the cost of replacing the sensors at £250 a month is another matter. I wonder what is ten average annual cost of sensors. Any suggestions?

    Dr. changed my needles

I prefer the other ones too. The plastic case keeps getting pierced and catches when I'm disposing of them.

What do you think to this new smart insulin thats in the works, sounds promising?

The "technology" doesn't sound so very different from Viagra - i.e. it is specific and directed to a particular outcome. It sounds as if progress is being made. If it passes clinical trials thee would be no need to worry - and it would be very easy to check its effectiveness with blood tests.

    Remembering dose

Many thanks, I'll try both those ideas. I'm also planning to get a Cgm which look very useful - although expensive.

    Remembering dose

I use insulin pens 4 times a day novo rapid and levimer. It is so routine I often can't remember if I've injected or not- and how much. I'm too chaotic to manage making notes or to organise elastic bands etc. I want a pen that remembers for me. Any ideas? Thanks
