Most of the battle is mental

Thanks everyone I really hope it can inspire others to do the same. It's never to late to better yourself. Even if it's just forcing yourself to go for a walk each day.

Most of the battle is mental

The nurse wants to take small steps I guess. She doesn't want me going backwards again so bit by bit reducing my meds. Although she did say most people it dose t do much for them. I'm scared of feeling like I did back last year so I'm happy taking it slow if that makes sense.

Most of the battle is mental

I remember the day clearly. 23rd December 2014 I was told I was a diabetic at the age of 33. My doctor told me no point trying to control it by diet as 99% of the time it don't work. Genetics along with my lifestyle was the cause so can only blame myself. I weighed 135kg. Hba1c was 88. And...

    Keeping fit

I made a post a while back regarding walking a little each day and how it benefited me. Since then I moved a step up so to speak. Training 4-5 days in gym. Doing this has had its challenges for me but mainly craving sugary things. I do resist but some days it's really hard lol. But more...

Making that choice that changes your life.

I was sports mad as a kid. I ran and ran I played football for hours and hours a day. I never stopped. I loved it. Different times to kids today I guess. But I grew up. I got a job and I sadly smoked. All that slowly became less important to the point I would use the car to go round the corner...

Making that choice that changes your life.

The way I look at it a mile is 15 mins of my life. And it makes me feel good. After a couple of days u might enjoy that time? 15 mins u can forget about everything and just enjoy the moment? It's never to late. But everyone has a right to live life as they see fit. I choose to push myself out my...

Making that choice that changes your life.

I'm making this post in the belief this could help people. Motivate people or even get people involved in what I'm doing. 2 months ago my car broke down and it was to much for me to afford to repair. The gear box went. Not that it's important lol. Anyway that forced me to walk 1 mile each way to...

Thank you. It means a lot to help. But the reward for hard work is feeling great. That's worth anything surely? I hated the low days feeling unwell and tired. It's a rut and hard to get out of. But the weather is improving and people have lots of chances to get out and enjoy the rain. Or sun if...

I will do, I'm happy to go slow and see how things go. It's a long road. As long as I keep improving I guess it would be the process to reduce my meds until I'm off completely?

I will say I feel like I'm a test subject now. They taken measurements and things they didn't bother with before. And gave me their personal number to keep them informed with blood lvls etc.
