    Argument with OB

Thanks for your reply :) You helped me make up my mind that if I don't go into labour naturally then provided me and baby are fine, I want to wait until 39 weeks and have an elective c-section. I see both the endo and ob every 2 weeks (I'm almost 35 weeks now). Ironically, when I told the endo I...

    Argument with OB

I would love it if I had a natural labour as I know it's best for baby and myself. I just have a very strong feeling that if I'm induced it will end in a stressed baby and an emergency section and I would much prefer a planned c-section over an emergency one.

    Argument with OB

Wow 27! Good work! I don't think I could ever get a result that good as I'm likely to have a small snack when I'm approaching 4 :p I'm just hoping that I go into labour naturally so that I don't have to make the decision. Baby dropped a week ago and I'v been having menstrual like cramps for...

    Argument with OB

Thanks for the suggestion, at my next appointment I'll ask if there is a hip assessment they can do :) She gave the placenta failure reason for the timing but when I asked why diabetics have a greater risk I didn't really get a clear answer. I guess I was hoping that if my blood sugars are kept...

    Argument with OB

Yesterday I had an appointment with my OB to discuss my baby's growth and a plan for delivery. She was very impressed with my diabetes control and said that they never see anyone as good as me (HbA1c is 36 and it's very rare that I'm ever above 9 or below 4 - thanks to the insulin pump I got...

    HbA1c levels

This happened to me - definitely agree with bringing it down slowly.

How much did you have to increase your insulin?

Thanks ladies. Looks like I have to lower the rate back down again because this morning at 1am I was 3.9. It's so confusing! I'm curious, how much has your carb ratios change? So far I've only increased my dinner ratio from 1:12 to 1:10 but recently I've needed to take corrections so I think I...

How much did you have to increase your insulin?

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant. I'm on an insulin pump and starting a few weeks ago I had to increase my bolus with my meals but up until a few days ago my basal rates have remained the same. For the last 3 nights I've been waking up about 1-2am with blood sugars anywhere from 10-12. Each time...

    Need help.

I haven't stopped taking metformin since becoming pregnant (now 18+5).

    Hypos at 15 weeks

I'm 16+5 and still having 1-2 hypos a day. I'm still reducing my basal rates every day. I too am wondering when the resistance will kick in but I'm thankful that it hasn't yet

    Am I pregnant?

I had very tight control pre-pregnancy but started getting unexplained highs at 10 and 11dpo and got my positive pregnancy test at 12dpo (days past ovulation/conception). If you are pregnant and conceived on the 10th then a test in about a weeks time should give you an accurate result.

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Since your pre-meal blood sugars are in range I think better advice would have been to start testing in between meals to see if you are indeed going low at these times rather than drastically reducing your insulin dosage...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

I initially got it down to 36 (from 43) by having a LCHF diet then at the end of April I switched to a pump which has allowed me to keep it low while still indulging in carbs. I love the pump. I seem to be able to eat whatever I want and rarely spike over 8, and I get less hypos too :)

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Current HbA1c is 32 (5.1%) down from 36 in May

How much weight did you gain in the first trimester?

I'm only 7w2d and I have already gained 4.5kg! I'm worried that this is an unhealthy amount of weight gain so early in my pregnancy. I have my first appointment on Tuesday so I will talk to the specialists about it then, but in the meantime, how much weight did you gain in the first trimester?

I could try that. There is still a big red bump 2 days later :(

    Lots of Hypos

There actually wasn't much of an increase between your bedtime and morning blood sugars. It looks to me like you only needed to increase your fast acting and not your long acting.

I've been using the Inset 30. Wow! That seems crazy that that would happen!
