    Vitamin D (sucrose free) ?

I too wouldn't have thought there's that much sucrose in them for that kind of spike. I've stopped them until I get a chance to discuss with GP, whenever that will be these days.

    Vitamin D (sucrose free) ?

Very interesting reading. I would prefer to take a liquid based version as I find the large tablets very chalky and I believe not so good for those prone to stones. Thank you

    Vitamin D (sucrose free) ?

Thank you for the replies, My word, £96 or £6.99 a year, what's that all about ? I note the Amazon have silica in them which isn't supposed to be good. I guess the free Govt ones aren't the Solgar ones. Still find it a mystery why Vit D is being widely recommended for the treatment of diabetes...

    Vitamin D (sucrose free) ?

Hello, Recently I have been put back onto Vit D. On testing I found my BG level had doubled from 5.5 to 11.5. The only difference in my routine was the Vit D tablets. On inspection it says that one of the ingredients is sucrose. Foolishly I Googled myself stupid and found that not only is V5...

    Metformin and Alogliptin

Hello, I have just been put on Alogliptin (25mg). Despite the A4 info sheet in box it doesn't give advice on when and how to take. I take 2000mg metformin after evening meal (GP advised). Pharmacist was surprised at this but advised Alogliptin and Metformin should be taken together. Any advice...

    Diabetes worse with Covid 19

Thank you for your reply. I'm happy that no one has replied to this thread with similar problems as it shows how many have not had the virus or had it without issues. Long may that continue

    Diabetes worse with Covid 19

Hello all, First got the virus 6 weeks ago, the worst passed after 3 days but I have been suffering with this illness for the last 6 weeks. I noted that my blood sugars were a lot higher all the time. Contacted GP and was put on 2 lots of antibiotics. These didn't help virus problems but I noted...

    Steroids and methotrexate

Many, many thanks for your insightful replies. It is my understanding that the Rhumi is unable to make a definitive diagnosis of RA , which I believe is quite normal in a lot of cases with high crp only indicators. I have had Fibromyalgia ,cervical spondylosis and osteoarthritis for many years...

    Steroids and methotrexate

Hello, This is a very specific post regarding my own personal circumstances so appreciate it may be specifically unanswerable but would appreciate any input on the general subject. I have been on steroids for Polymyalgia for some years. My rheumatologist wants me off them so prescribed...

    No longer T2

Yes BG is normal too. T2 has always been the least of my problems but of course I am over the moon to have one less thing to deal with. Thank you all for your well wishes. I wish all of you the very best and many thanks for the great advice and support this site offers. I fear it will be more...

    No longer T2

After a week in hospital on a drip it was discovered my bile duct was blocked. Obstruction removed and all T2 symptoms gone. Apparently due to the bile duct and pancreas being connected. I have to say that it was only down to extensive blood tests and scans that a diligent consultant finally...

Concerned about my blood sugar levels

If you have been T2 for 6 years on a high carb diet of pasta, rice, potatoes and beer, I think the level of 6.9 is amazing. Any infection will raise your BG levels

    Diet

That's my point. People should have their own version of ANY diet. In theory your ability to eat full fat yogurt and cheese should mean butter wouldn't be a problem but for you it is.

    Diet

I maybe should have been clearer in my title, as this was mainly aimed at those with other medical issues, as in following a diabetic diet may cause other issues. For example, people with gall bladder problems and especially removed ones will have a problem with high fat, people with IBS or...

    Diet

Microsoft Word - eating_well_update.doc - eating_well.pdf This is from diabetes.org, the other big site on the web. The diet recommendations seem at complete odds to most other T2 diets around as does the NICE guidelines, which push the 5 a day, more fibre and low cholestrol thing. Moreover for...

Intentionally eating "bad foods" to see how your body reacts

Those levels are that of a "normal" person and even theirs could rise to 7 after a meal. The whole diet thing is a lottery, what suits one may not suit another. Lowest reading I had was after a chinese takeaway and kitkat. Highest was after tuna and salad, so what's that all about? On another...

How long to see BG changes

Tuna salad was only an example but for the record it was tinned tuna and salad was lettuce cucumber celery spring onions and tom. Following strict LCHF with no carbs, no sugar. This happens every meal whatever. This morning, egg bacon mushrooms. Before 8.1 after 19.2
