    Privatised NHS? Paying for insulin?

With the election coming up next week, I've heard several things about the NHS possibly becoming privatised one day. If this happens, would that mean us diabetics having to pay for our insulin or taking out health insurance to cover it? Like in the USA? I have read many things online how it is...

    End of honeymoon period

For me, I knew I was finishing my honeymoon period because I was getting too high after eating. I would be up in the 14 or 15s after breakfast. So I was having to inject more with my meals to keep them in the target guidelines. :)

    What to drink?

I love Costa lattes too! Sometimes I even choose a latte with their flavoured syrups as a treat but so far, they've never really had an affect on my sugar levels.. But tea is obviously better. Well done ;)

    What to drink?

Ah, okay! To be honest, I've never had a problem with diet drinks apart from getting a bit bored of just having diet Pepsi/coke... I was just a bit worried in case they were affecting me somehow. Thank you! :)

    What to drink?

Funnily enough, I did just read something about the diet drinks and what it can do to you before I posted this question that were saying similar things as you have just said. I may have to start drinking more water when out, actually. (As you said, I haven't acquired my taste for red wine yet...

    What to drink?

Hey everyone!! :) Just wondering what you like to drink when you're out and about? I feel like the only thing I can drink when out for a meal or something is diet coke or diet Pepsi. Whether it be alcoholic or a soft drink, what do you choose to drink when you're out?

What do you dislike most about diabetes? Is there anything you like?

I was only diagnosed back in March. One thing that gets me down is going out to eat. I tend to worry myself about when I need to inject and where I should do it, at the table? In the toilets? It does make it slightly less enjoyable when going out for meals. It's also a bit rubbish because I...

    Foot care.

Hi. I was just wondering/curious as to what kind of foot care some people have? I know it's important to look after your feet. So does anyone see a chiropodist? If so, how often? What kind of things do they look out for or take care of for diabetics? Just curious. :)

What to put in a Sharps Bin?

Hi! I have a quick question about Sharps Bins... What are you actually supposed to put in them? I normally inject, place the inside cap back on the needle and then the bigger cap on top of that and put that in the sharps bin. Am I doing it wrong? Should I just be putting the needle in without...

    Driving with Diabetes...

Oh, okay! They said in the letter about a 3 year licence. They also said about 3 months before that licence expires, they'll send me renewal forms and my fitness to drive will be reviewed... So I guess that's normal. Thank you :)

    Driving with Diabetes...

Hi! I was diagnosed last month and as I was told, I had to inform the DVLA. I've just got a letter today saying I have to send my current licence back and be issued with a shorter one that lasts for 3 years. What exactly does this mean for me? It mentions about a medical test... What is that...

    Newly diagnosed. Insulin pens.

Hi. I was diagnosed with type 1 on the 13th of March so I'm beginning to learn about Diabetes and my insulin pens. I just had a few questions... How will I know when my insulin pen has ran out? I know I'm supposed to test it before hand, so If there's not enough insulin inside, will it not...
