    Can anyone help?

I too sympathise, you must feel awful with those high bg levels, I remember how I felt before going on insulin. Have had a number of acute pancreatitis attacks too , extremely painful as you are no doubt aware. You say your pancreas is dead, I presume, therefore, that your pancreas doesn't...

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 5.5 this morning which ( luckily for me) is about where it is every morning whether I've eaten late or had a beer. Does anyone else find this?

    my type

Erm, yes!! Just like me and everyone else in the world! We all depend on insulin but your pancreas doesn't produce enough of it so if you want to maintain a healthy blood glucose level then you will need to supplement what your pancreas produces by injecting too. Hope it's not too painful for...

    Another question or 2

I believe a hypo is technically below 4 mmo/l so you were having hypos. When I get them I tend to have a fuzzy head first, then sweat a little, feel dizzy & a little faint. Hungry too ( which is our body wanting glucose I guess ). To sum up: I feel pretty awful and do a bg test when I suspect a...

    Afternoon from West Sussex

Sanguine, porridge every morning, perhaps a tuna or chicken salad lunchtime and fish perhaps for dinner with new potatoes/mash. That sort of thing. Occasionally eat a bit of junk food too, not a saint! I just try and avoid too any carbs, sweets and biscuits. Less so if I'm exercising soon...

    First eye screening

Hey Mark, couldn't agree more re:nhs, they've always looked after me and relatives as and when, no complaints whatsoever there. Also glad to hear it seems to be fairly standard that all of us suffer a bit of retinopathy. I guess this occurred prior to being diagnosed with diabetes when bg...

    Afternoon from West Sussex

Because I already eat carefully and exercise a lot but still need to inject, particularly long acting overnight. When I exercise hard during the day then I don't take any insulin at breakfast or lunch. I do for dinner but there's not much exercise in the evening![emoji1].

    Afternoon from West Sussex

Hey Claire, nice to hear you're so positive! Stick with the healthy diet and exercise. T2 myself but inject too, if I had the option of controlling it with tablets, good diet and exercise alone I would!! [emoji4]

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.3 here. Strange how different we all are. Generally I sleep better when I go to bed hungry and so my bg levels are 5 or below in the morning

What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

5.5 which is typical for me. Don't normally test in the morning as it's always about this level, guess I'm lucky in that respect.

Am going for my second eye test at the hospital in June, was told last year that I had some damage already to my retinas, is this normal? Am t2 and on insulin, pancreatic problems all my life but diabetic since January 2012.
