    Done all that, he is getting better and sometimes remembers, I have been diabetic now 11 years and married for 43. I do test but haphazardly have been told if change insulin will have t test more though.

    A bit of both really, and my husband cooks so he mostly decides on main meal. I do have a say but when I say can't have that he goes off in a huff. It's very difficult and as retired have too much time t nibble.

    i have been to have my bloods checked today and I have gone from 9.2 to 8.7 still not good enough. I also seem to be putting weight on. I also have to have my bloods done again as I am anemic.     T2 diabetes, Metformin, Insurance & the DVLA

    When I went on insulin I had to let dvla know, and they have restricted my licence to 3 years, I then have to apply for it to be renewed. I am 63 and been on insulin since April this year.

    Mine are this morning 13.7. I'd love to be lower when 1st started on insulin in April did get it down to below 8 and some times Evan below 7 one day this week was 6.7

    13.7 this morning been creeping up in last week had one at 6.7 finding it hard to keep low take lantus insulin and metformin

    Don't know but at least it seems t b working. It only takes a few minutes to inject. I was dreading it but it's ok. My levels are down to between 7.5 and 8. Need to be lower to 5 and 8. If I lose more weight and lower levels who knows.

    I was advised to fill out a form and send it off. It was a diabetic doctor that advised me.

    Hi Karen when I went on insulin my doctor advised I had to tell the dvla which I have done but I have heard nothing yet. They advised if doctor hasn't told me to stop driving to carry on until I hear. If not on insulin if u r not prone to hypos then it should b ok.

    I went on to insulin at end of April I am type 2 diabetic. I was dreading it but it is ok, I take my insulin at 6pm every night and it does not take long. My levels have dropped when I went to my review my glucose levels had gone from 91 down to 61 in 2an a half months and my weight down 4 kgs...

    Dead in bed syndrome or sleep apnea ?

    Both my husband and I have sleep apnoea. I am diabetic as well, my husband stopped breathing 76 times an hour it's now down to 6 times an hour using Cpap machine, yes it's inconvenient and it takes some getting used to, but it gives peace of mind.

    I found today after eating 3 crumpets for breakfast my blood sugar level was 14.3 before lunch so had a salad for lunch and tea it had come down by teatime. Not understanding high very well.

    Poll: Which diabetes course(s) have you attended?

    I did a course when 1st diagnosed and couldn't take it then all about portion sizes and food, would love to do another re carb counting as trying to do this on my own and finding it a bit hard.

    Just started carb counting and sugar levels have dropped Porridge and a slice of toast Cottage cheese, celery stick, 3 baby toms, and a handful of cold bacon strips Lamb cauliflower with cheese, sm amount potato and small Yorkshire pud. Hope sugar levels keep going down b 4 lunch 12.5. B 4 tea 6.5

    I have to eat low fibre for my IBS and take bio salts. My weight is 11 stone I only do 1exercise class a week My sugar levels in high teens. I have porridge and toast for breakfast sandwich for lunch. And a cooked meal in eve with salmon,chicken beef.lamb etc sometimes potato, jackets...

    Help with diet for diabetes and IBS.

    I have just started on insulin I am still on medication as well but I am finding it difficult to control my blood sugars. I also have sleep apnoea, and IBS. Eating a lot of veg upsets my IBS. Can anyone suggest what is good to eat.
