    Compression Low?

Thanks - looks like blood test in the middle of the night is needed! Trying to lengthen the time between injecting and eating but not always practical at work.

    Compression Low?

I know there have been other posts about compression lows but I’m new to the Libre and not sure if this is what’s going on. I seem to go low during the night according to the Libre. I’ve attached an example of what the profile looks like. Is this a real low or compression low? I also spike...

    Multipeptide study

@Natalielw - I'm thinking about signing up for this too. Any experiences to share? How long is each appointment? Got to get agreement from my employer so would be useful to know what kind of commitment is needed. Thanks.

    What counts as a spike?

I have high cholesterol so don't think LCHF is an option for me either. Diabetes management seems to be more of an art than a science that's for sure. From the replies here, I guess it's about deciding what approach you want to take - not easy.

    What counts as a spike?

Thanks #CatLadyNZ - it was really useful as covered all aspects of diabetes including travel, alcohol, eating out in restaurants (all my favourite things ) as well as carb ratios etc. I got lucky getting onto this one as there was a space available at short notice. It should definitely be...

    What counts as a spike?

Hi everyone, I'm a few months into my T1 diagnosis now and have just finished a FEFI course (flexible eating, flexible insulin). It was great and I'm feeling really good as adjusting my fast acting doses to what I eat and have a half unit pen. I've had hardly any hypos since the start of the...

    insulin and exercise

Do you take any rapid acting insulin? I halve my breakfast dose of Novorapid if I'm exercising first thing in the morning. Normally I test my blood when I wake - if I'm on the low side, I'll eat half a banana, if ok/high, I exercise before breakfast. When I've exercised, I test again and have...

1 week diagnosed and bad eyes

I was diagnosed Type 1 in May this year. My eyesight deteriorated massively - a complete blur only helped by strong reading glasses but even then couldn't cope with computer based work. It took 3-4 weeks for my eyesight to stabilise and then didn't need glasses at all! My employer was very...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

5.6 - so delighted as I was 15 at diagnosis in May!

Lots of hypos - hot weather or something else?

I know it too really! Just wishful thinking... I've been feeling much better in the last couple of weeks and BG really stable - so guess it's just one of those things. Will speak to DN on Monday.

Lots of hypos - hot weather or something else?

What was the cause for you @urbanracer? Did you find out? part of me is hoping that this has all been some big mistake and I don't actually have diabetes after all!

Lots of hypos - hot weather or something else?

hi everyone, over the last week or so, I've been experiencing hypos at least once, sometimes 2-3 times, a day. I thought it was related to the heat and tried dropping my Levemir - only by 1 unit, from my usual 14 to 13. I'm a big nervous about changing doses without speaking to my DN and can't...

It's been 35ºC today. How have your sugar levels been reacting?

Me too Carole Anne. I've not felt any symptoms when I've been low either and I normally get pretty clear hypo symptoms.

What to do with used pens?

Hi everyone, just wondering what everyone does with used insulin pens? Can they be recycled or returned to pharmacy?

Curious about diabetes weight loss... Can anyone help?

I lost about 1 stone 3 lbs over about 3 months. Have put half a stone back on since diagnosis - probably back at a healthier weight now so don't want to put on anymore ideally!

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Just got my results 3 weeks after diagnosis- dropped from 15% to 11.8%. I'm so relieved- makes it all seems worth it. And I figured out a plan with the diabetes nurse so I can have a glass of champagne AND a small slice of chocolate cake to celebrate a big family birthday at the weekend!

    hypo after eating. Type1

I'm a new T1 and on fixed doses for now. Definitely need to make sure I eat carbs with each meal - I've had a couple of hypos in the last few days as my blood glucose is now better controlled overall but I'm injecting 4 units of Novorapid at breakfast and lunch and 6 with my evening meal. I...

New Type 1 - loads of questions

Thanks for your replies. It's been great finding this forum - so much information. June_ C - I'm trying to keep to low carb snacks - nuts and berries - as even low GI things like oatcakes send my blood sugar up. What do you snack on? Coco44 - I got some Superdrug specs at the weekend and...

Thanks Noblehead - that's all very reassuring. Bit gutted I'm probably going to regain my lost weight though!

New Type 1 - loads of questions

Hi, I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes about a fortnight ago. Slowly getting my head around it all and have loads of questions...would appreciate any answers from those with more experience. 1) Over the last couple of days my blood sugar has been at the lower end of the normal range -4.2-4.5...
