    Reversing side-effects

An alternative to the GL diet is a ketogenic diet. I'm currently at around 10g carbs per day and my energy levels are fine.

    Reversing side-effects

Yes, you can reverse neuropathy and many other complications (but not diabetes itself). It depends upon on how much damage you have. Dr. Bernstien is the how-to. Basically, you need to maintain normal blood glucose (A1c < 4.7 and BG ~4.6) along with minimum insulin levels and insulin resistance...

Trying so willfully to come off T2DM

I have had quite good results on a keto diet. My glucose now generally stays below 100 even for postprandial readings and my last A1c was 4.5. I also easily lost weight on it and have maintained a stable weight ever since. I also think that a keto diet does much more than just help control...

Trying so willfully to come off T2DM

That's correct and it is called physiological insulin resistance - a fancy word saying that your body has adjusted to burning fat, and your body will not be used to processing carbs. If I were not diabetic, I would test this, but since I am diabetic, I am quite reluctant to go off ketosis and...

Trying so willfully to come off T2DM

It's great that you are trying this. I have also been on a low carb keto diet for almost two years. Around the one year mark, I saw a change where my glucose suddenly dropped into the 80s with spikes in the 90s. My A1c also dropped to 4.5. Since then I have remained stable, but I am still very...
