Neuropathy pain after coming off Pregabalin

Neuropathy Hi all. Been type 1 since 1976 so around 47 years now. I’ve been on Pregabalin 200 a day since I had Covid, which left me in pain. I’m nearly off it now ( horrible side effects and I felt sure it wasn’t working ). Anyway it was and I now have hand, foot, thigh and interestingly...

Type 1 Libre app not working

Look at Jaylee’s answer. I’m so relieved! Had to leave work, go to the GP as my Accutest that I keep in the car was obsolete. Now thinking work will want me back but I’m exhausted! X

Type 1 Libre 2 not scanning on first scan

Oh I was just being silly. The days of me hiding are long gone. The kids know and just accept it but to be honest, when you’re 9 you don’t care [emoji3]

Type 1 Libre 2 not scanning on first scan

It’s happening lots now so I want to know if it’s A: problems with the sensor B: problems with my ‘phone. I scan my arm and it beeps and vibrates but when I check my ‘phone there’s no result. I then try a second time and there is. It’s a bit of a pain as I work at a school and one beep I can...

    Neuropathy

Morning. I wrote about exactly the same thing around March/April time I think, as I’d had Covid with high sugars for a while after and been left barely able to walk. I had a chat with the nurse who said that I should see how I was after my BG returned to normal. It’s very depressing I know as...

    Type 1 Shoes

Thank you. I had Sketchers a few years back and the podiatrist told me they didn’t support my foot enough. I’m currently wearing shoes that make my feet swell ( Dr Martens ) so I’d happily swap now! Xxx

    Type 1 Shoes

Hi all. Since having Covid my levels are still high and erratic. I’ve now got severe foot pain and need some recommendations for shoes. I know we all have different needs but it’s becoming a real problem. I was on a very low dose of Pregabalin ( 75 a day ) and am now on 200 and it’s not touched...

    Type 1 Post Covid

Thank you. I’m on Fiasp with meals and Tresiba in the morning. Was working great. Tried tweaking the basal but it pushed up my day time readings. Hopefully it’ll settle soon as it’s coming up to two months since I had Covid. X

High blood sugar after COVID infection

I’m the same. Had it mid March but it’s not going down. Was told by my GP to ‘try’ and get my hba1c back down from 8.4 to my usual 7.1. Obviously I walked out thinking what did she assume I was doing? Unless she thought I was ‘cheating.’ Sorry, ‘70’s diabetic clinic throwback for those of you...

    Covid

I’m the same? Had it mid March. Hba1c really horribly up ( 8.4 ) and go hypo most mornings x

    Type 1 Post Covid

Anyone else’s blood sugars stayed up after having Covid? I had it mid March and my hba1c has gone from the low 7’s to 8.4. It’s erratic during the night too. I’m trying to bring it down steadily but am at a loss. After 47 years of type 1 stuff it’s floored me. No mater what I do it still drops...

    Type 1 Meter broken

Hi all Type 1 for 47 years. My accuchek expert has stopped ( apparently now obsolete ). I rang the company who are sending me a new chip, if that’s no good then a new meter. I’m currently off after surgery on my hand so everything is difficult at the moment. My carb ratio is 1:10 and cf is 1:3...

Type 1 Burning feet with neuropathic pain and peripheral vascular disease

Hi. Anyone told that they don’t have neuropathy as such but neuropathic pain? I also have peripheral vascular disease and take a statin plus Clopidigrel to avoid clotting. I’m in pain if I walk more that 10 minutes in my toes and balls of my feet. The diabetes foot specialist nurse said I should...

    Type 1 Libre A1c

I’ve recently had the best results ever recording on my Libre and blood monitor for staying in range, with the help of a fabulous nurse. So without bothering her…… why is my A1c ‘stuck’ and not coming down? It’s not very motivating. She’s set my range between 5 and 8.5 and I’m managing that 70%...

    Type 1 and the menopause

Me too. Wake up hot in the night and unless I do a scan I’m sometimes wondering if it’s a low or a hot sweat. I often have to correct too. I’ve spoken to my GP who just shrugged and gave me a box of HRT that I’ve not had yet. X

Type 1 Bradford Scale or sickness absence

Thanks all. I’m back tomorrow. I got cellulitis in my leg so have more antibiotics to take. I’ll just need to be careful what I’m doing or I’ll be off forever [emoji854]

Type 1 Bradford Scale or sickness absence

Thank you. To be honest the HR lady is lovely, and has a type 1 husband so knows the score. It’s just it’s been used as a tool against me once and it ended up being a union thing ( I won - hurray! ) but he was also bullying me to get rid of my job, but that’s another matter. It’s just when she...
