    Ypsomed my life insulin pump

I am currently on the Insight so good to know it was a good switch. I do have a smartphone so if that's the main drawback for you, hopefully that won't be for me :/ waiting to see if I can get a sensor provided that works with the ypso so I don't have to give up looping, but I am not holding my...

    Ypsomed my life insulin pump

Out of curiosity what other pumps have you had? I have been looking at the Ypsomed, currently on the Insight. And what makes you say it's the best pump - is it the size, cartridges, interface etc..?

The week I am about to move onto the T:slim X2, the Omnipod 5 is made available for everyone.

You could always dose your next hour basal before detaching, it's what I usually do if I know I will be disconnected for a longer time frame. It might not be as spontaneous, but I think it's workable, especially once you are familiar with the controls.

    Changes To Insurance4insulinpumps?

I cancelled earlier today by email. I actually asked to cancel when the direct debit was going to be taken, on the 3rd, but they cancelled with immediate effect, so it might save you some time on the phone!

    Changes To Insurance4insulinpumps?

I got the same emails and had a quick look through the policies offered by Burnett and insurance4insulinpumps. Both are underwritten by different companies, and both have some exclusion clauses but Burnett seems to have one extra, see below. Between that and the slightly cheaper price I plan to...

    Accu Chek Insight handset swap

I'm pretty sure you can use the software for at least some of this. I haven't had to copy the whole lot, but I have saved basal profiles as a file with the software which I assume you can then retrieve onto the device if needed.

Where to put a pump as a woman??

I am a similar size and have the roche insight. I don't need to access it due to the handset but I have found a variety of ways to wear it. Most of the time I use the clip and pop it on my skirt waistband but when that is not an option I tend to use the hid-in band. You can wear it a lot of...

    Insight Pump and NovoRapid

I am also on the insight and using novorapid and sometimes I get higher levels just before a cannula change. I'm usually okay with a change every 3 days but some sites I'm better with a change every 2 days. It varies for everyone and can also depend on which area you are using for your canula...

    Hba1c before and after pump?

Sadly not as good as those above but on MDI my last HbA1c was 67, and a year and a half in with a pump I'm maintaining 52. So whilst not as good as I would like it to be, a massive improvement :)

Where do thin people put their canulas?

I had similar concerns to you and have been using a pump for around 18 months. I don't use my stomach at all, I use use my thighs - which I understand may not be an option for you, and my lower back/top of bum. I really don't have a lot of padding on my lower back/hips but there is just enough...

    DARE Study

I took part in this, probably a couple of years ago. From what I can remember I just had to answer some questions on the day and do a blood test. Thought I might as well try and help in some way if I could.

Faster Insulin Aspart: Finally in the wild and in my hands!

I wondered the same so got in touch with Novo Nordisk, the official response was they have not decided whether a pump cart will be introduced at a later date, but I suspect they will do at some point..

    Insight error - help!

The tip from my dsn was after it errors, pull the battery out and press the power button a couple of times before putting the battery back and switching it on again. I find that fixes it first time, most of the time, still annoying but less frustrating overall!

    That sticky stuff!

I also recommend baby oil but I use the gel. I find if you put some on the site after removing the cannula and leave for a short time any residue comes off without irritating the skin.

    Insight pump

Both of these can be found in.....settings, bolus advice, time blocks. Pick the time block you want, click next a couple of times and you'll get to the carb ratio and sensitivity (correction) ☺

    Partner's views on pump?

I have the insight and was initially worried about having it roaming around the bed with me, but it's fine and I don't attach it to myself by pouch/belt. I pop it next to me when I go to sleep and it's usually in the same spot when I wake, or it has moved with me. I do cuddle up too and just...

    Insulin Pump Options

I've been on the insight for nearly a year now and get on with it just fine. It was my first pump so I have no comparison but it is easy to use, the handset is good and I find it easy to wear the pump somewhere. My only real issue with it is the random electronic errors it has, which mean you...

    Background retinopathy

I had exactly the same thing happen at my screening last month. I was pretty freaked out when I read my letter. I did some research, spoke to my DSN, the eye screening clinic (you can get a call back from the graders for a good explanation of what they found), my GP and I had another 3D eye scan...

Private one to one diabetes education

I personally think it could be something worthwhile as in the past few weeks I was trying to see if I could find a nutritionist/dietician, who also had diabetes, so they would understand my issues better. I encountered an ex dietician, turned pump rep at my diabetic clinic who had diabetes and...

    Accu Chek Insight Pump

Same here. I started on the insight 8 months ago and love it. No issues with cannulas (the inserter makes it really easy to do), and being attached is pretty easy to get on with. Just have some options for where to wear it ☺
