Libre, noooo! How could you?! Oh, hi Dexcom!

I also had to give up the Libre for the same reason and I am now on day 13 of my first G5 sensor. One difference over using the Libre that I had not considered is that the transmitter sends off a measurement every 5 minutes and if the phone is out of range, or otherwise misses it, that reading...

    Dexcom G5 queries

Thanks for your reply I am now up and running with the G5. I have tried with both xDrip and the Dexcom iOS app, neither fill in the missing data when the transmitter has been out of range, so I have a G5. The xDrip G5 Facebook group has quite a lot of talk about new G5 firmware that was...

    Dexcom G5 queries

I received my first transmitter this morning. The manufacturing date is 2016-12-13 so presumably based on Chas's post it will be the G5+, but is there any way of telling? I intend to fire it up on Saturday. Tim

    Libre Sensor Allergic Reaction

Oh dear, it is a very real problem. Your story sound just like mine, I had exactly the same about 3 months into using the Libre. Abbot were unhelpful, and said that it can happen, stop using it for a while before trying again. My solution, found on this forum, probably in one of the above...

    Libre Transmitter!

I have just ordered the bits. If it all works out I might well layout a PCB and make things somewhat smaller and neater. I will let you know how I get on. I have a question on sensor pairing. Is one particular sensor locked to the reader, Libre reader, xBridge, or limiTTer that started it? Or...

    Abbott Freestyle Libre Reader

Yes, I have been a continuous Libre user since June, .I live by it and now would be completely lost without it. I soon went allergic to the glue and have to go through a performance of putting the sensor on a compeed plaster every 2 weeks, Recently I have had accuracy problems, but just having...

    Abbott Freestyle Libre Reader

I have had another play and when you set an alarm it has a type that can either be daily, once or timer. The 1st 2 choices allow setting of a time of day, the timer option gives duration in hours and minutes. So It looks pretty flexible with multiple alarms and timers.

    Abbott Freestyle Libre Reader

I don't use any timer or alarms, but have observed that you can set multiple daily alarms. After a low glucose ready it prompts if you want a reminder to check again in 15mins, and after a high glucose reading it prompts to set up a reminder to check again after 1 or 2 hours. I don't think it...

    Libre adhesive skin reactions

I will just comment on the Compeed method. I have been successfully using this for 6 months. I use a 4mm leather punch to make a hole in the plaster but generally very similar technique to that described in this thread. I also make use of a mirror to help in aligning the applicator to the...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

. There is a lot of conflicting info available on the web but as far as I can see the DVLA guidelines exclude CGMS. Taken from https://www.gov.uk/guidance/current-medical-guidelines-dvla-guidance-for-professionals-conditions-d-to-f#diabetes--continuous-glucose-monitoring-systems-cgms...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

The sender uses Near Field Communication (NFC) that is supported by some Android smartphones (certainly my Galaxy 4 does). I have no idea about iPhones. There is an open source Android project that will read the data but the last time I looked the project appeared to be somewhat stalled in...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Apologies, I was mus-remembering from when I was given an InsulinX for its bolus calculator. It has the same interface, Still the interface is so awful that I only stuck with it for a few days before finding something better. I don't think it was designed, but thrown together on a Friday...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

My very first sensor fell off yesterday on day 5. I was reaching under the bed to plug in a fan, and when I stood up there it was on the floor. I didn't knowingly knock it, but it is possible. Abbott customer care were 100% and a replacement is on the way FOC :) I will get some tape to cover...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

Like you I have only had the Libre since Thursday so these are just my first thoughts on using it as my main blood tester. Until about a year ago I had an NHS supplied Optium Xceed meter and I had a part box of the correct stips that were still in date, so went straight onto the Libre for...

    FREESTYLE LIBRE ON SALE!!!!

I think that the Libre did amazing well. Early afternoon on Libre read 4.3 dropping fast, my meter (Freestyle Insulinx) read 4.2. So I took 20G carb as fruit juice and carried on working on fitting a towbar to my car, 40 mins later, I felt low, the Lire read 3.1 and dropping, my meter read 2.5...
