    Tummy fat

Has anyone got any good ideas on how to get rid of tummy fat? I'm T2 on insulin, and low carb and trulicity injections are working well on blood sugars and weight loss, but it seems to come off everywhere except my tummy! I have arthritis in my lower spine, so don't find exercise very easy, I...

    Dulaglutide (Trulicity)

I've just seen my diabetic consultant this morning, he's pleased with my blood sugar levels, my HBa1c is 40. He's put me on this new (to me) drug, which is GLP-1 therapy to help even out and gradually lower the blood sugars hopefully leading up to (at some stage in the future) a kidney...

    Fasting on Insulun

I'm T2 but on insulin M3 and have been for about 12 years. I've been doing low carb for quite some time, and am losing weight, but quite slowly. I usually take my insulin soon after waking, and then have something to eat about an hour later. If I wanted to fast until my evening meal at 6pm, when...

    Why no weight loss?

I've been seriously adhering to the low carb diet for a fortnight now, have kept my carbs to 60 or under, and lost a measly 0.6 of a kilo! I'm being as active as I can, walking or exercising each day but now feel rather despairing! I'm having a keto egg muffin in the morning, some cheese and a...

    Diabetic retinopathy and driving

I'm T2 on insulin and have been for about 12 years now. My diabetic control is good now, but hasn't been so in the past, hence diabetic retinopathy and CKD. I've had a lot of laser work on the back of both eyes, leaving some scarring. I've also had cataracts removed from both eyes. I'm short...

What is the best carb counter app?

I've been off low carb for a while, and the weight is starting to creep back on! So I'm going back onto low carb, and would be interested to know which low carb (as opposed to calorie counter) apps members have found the most accurate for UK food. Thanks for any help.

    Other Half Now Has T2!

My OH has just been diagnosed with T2. He is 81. He went in for his 6 monthly check for his COPD, and the blood test came back. I gather that if your blood comes back as 48 or under you are not diabetic - his was 49! (Was this an HBa1c?) As I've been T2 for about 22 years now, hopefully I can...

    Chinese Food

I'm on LCHF and while I'm away I know that we'll be going out for a Chinese meal with friends. Apart from avoiding the rice, what are going to be the least damaging dishes for my diet please?

    Have stopped losing weight

The first couple of weeks (from Jan 1st) I lost a lot of weight on the LCHF diet - I lost one stone three pounds in two and a half weeks.
