    Miaomiao 1 vs 2

Hi Jaylee... I’ve done a bit of research today, these magnetic attaching connectors seem to be standard across a wide variety of devices, and there seems to be two varieties... two pin versions like this (fit MM2) and four pin ones that seem to be the version used on the MM1, though...

    Miaomiao 1 vs 2

Quick update... tried it in a different browser and it has all gone through. Relief! I ended up on the .cool website though, not the .eu one. The battery life issue in the MM2 sounds poor, my MM1 keeps going for a month between recharges. I’ll just have to be more careful going through doors...

    Miaomiao 1 vs 2

When I went on to the MiaoMiao website it did have both charging cable and stickers listed but when I tried to purchase it came up with a message that they were not available for UK delivery. Tried it a couple of times without success... maybe I need to try on a different computer in case it’s a...

    Miaomiao 1 vs 2

Hi I’ve been using the MM1 for a few years now and getting and Apple Watch has vastly improved its usefulness to me. Previously I used a Garmin FR645 but the link now seems to have broken and I can’t get it to work. I was about to charge up my sensor today and discovered that the charger cable...

    Freestyle Libre not working?

I’ve noticed in the last week or so that the Libre app on iOS is behaving a bit oddly... usually when I scanned the sensor successfully the phone would buzz and there would be the reading. Now if doesn’t buzz, the “scan sensor” message stays on the screen, but the reading is nevertheless...

Miaomiao, Tomato, and the Apple Watch

Well, I’ve taken the plunge and ordered a Watlaa. I can’t justify an Apple Watch when I’ve got a Garmin which does everything that I want better than an AW (gps accuracy, battery life, sports use); the Watlaa looks like it would be the perfect addition to keep an eye on my BG on a long run when...

Miaomiao, Tomato, and the Apple Watch

Thanks Jaylee - that looks much closer to what I was looking for at least in terms of function, and it’s certainly a lot cheaper than an Apple Watch. I don’t want to replace my Garmin which otherwise is perfect for me and the Apple Watch has a huge number of shortcomings for me.

Miaomiao, Tomato, and the Apple Watch

Very quick question: I’ve been looking everywhere for this without success! Once you have everything set up on the iPhone and Apple Watch, will the Tomato app on the watch read your BG independently of the phone? Can I head off for a run and leave the phone at home and still keep an eye on...

Important/ urgent info for Spike app users

Talk about tempting fate! Spike has just stopped working for me a verification error. :-(

Important/ urgent info for Spike app users

I got the notification but Spike is still working for me; I tried Tomato but the alarms were irritating and the accuracy seemed way out (making the alarms even more irritating). I’ll see how long the Spike limps along for... from what I’ve read above I don’t want to compromise my iPhone...

    honeymoon has anyones lasted years?.

Well, I've had diabetes for 22 years and I still go through periods where I have to cut my insulin intake drastically for a few months (with no other change in diet or exercise). The DSN said I was using homoepathic doses at the last clinic visit! Sadly I can't do without but do seem to be...

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

As my G6 trial came to an end I decided I liked the CGM experience so much that I needed to continue it in some manner. With the prospect of Libre on prescription in the New Year I ordered a Miaomiao transmitter. It arrived very quickly, not from China but Warrington... I wonder if they send...

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

I ran the last G6 sensor as long as I could... after nearly 17 days it fell off. Accuracy was near spot on compared to my BG meter up to the end. No sign of any skin reactions. I bought a few Libre sensors and am on to them now, but I’m missing the Dexcom CGM experience already :-(

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

I did various estimates but the Dexcom still came out more expensive. The critical factor is how long you can tolerate the sensor... early on with Libres I got reactions, not now, and I wonder if they have changed the adhesive. The current G6 sensor has been on nearly 12 days and is beginning...

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

I can answer my own question... after 10 days it just keeps on going. I hadn’t noticed but checked the sensor duration today and it’s at 11 days without any intervention from me.

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

Do you have to reset the Dexcom sensor before it reaches the 10 day limit with Spike, or will it keep on working regardless?

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

Good point, I haven’t tried extending the sensors but have found they aren’t that sticky after a week or so... will try with the current one (now held on with Rock Tape!) At the last moment I find myself with cold feet signing up for a £159/month contract and have just ordered some more Libre...

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

Thanks for your replies. I’ve been really hard about this as if I do decide for go for the Dexcom I am committing a not inconsiderable amount of money to an 11 month project. Libre funding in my area is apparently coming “soon” but it seems like there will be a few hurdles to clear first. I...

    Dexcom G6, Libre, and Spike

I have been using the Freestyle Libre system now for about 3 years... have been really impressed by it. My passions are running cycling and being able to keep a handle on my (type 1!) diabetes on the go without having to stop and do blood tests has been amazing. That said, particularly on longer...
