    Because you would then probably be able to eat anything you like understanding that sugars carbs all become glucose at different rates and the different ways insulines work, would just give you more freedom but if your enjoying your low carb diet continue as you are

    yeah 5 carbs 1/2 a unit that's good means a 1 to 1 ratio basically dafne says 10 grams of carbs will raise your bs by 2-3mmol and 1 unit of insulin will bring it down 2-3mmol I eat about 60 grams of carbs per meal and try to consume about 3000 calories a day, trying to put weight back on after a...

    Type 1's don't need to be on a low carb diet you just have to work out the carbs and take the correct amount of insulin providing your background is right, I eat anything chocolate pizza ect ect and my last HBA1c was 6.6mmol sorry im old money.

    Use whole meal or 50?50 because it wont have such a spike wholemeal wraps or pittas don't bm till 5 hours after you've eaten, go on a dafne course!

    An average apple is about 10 grams of carbs or 1 cp which technically should raise your bm by 3 mmol so take 1 unit if your on a 1 to 1 ratio and so on

    Id say reduce your back ground insulin 12mmol is very high to go to bed on!     If you follow the dafne rules you should do a bm before going to bed and it should be between 6.5-8.0mmol if you still find your self going low maybe reduce your background insulin.
