    Back in the normal range

After being diagnosed as T2 back in February I knew I had some work to do to get myself back in the normal range. My hba1c was 6.7 after a long time of being just outside being full-blown diabetic. I was put on Metformin and had already been doing exercise. Since November last year I've lost...

I've been away too long from the forum!

One thing that sticks out from what he said is that you should eat more smaller amounts through the day rather than eating only at breakfast, lunch and dinner. eating like this leaves your body wondering when it will get food next. I have been trying to do this but being at work all day...

I've been away too long from the forum!

Hi, After I was diagnosed with Pre Diabetes last year I did sign up here but drifted away when i got my level back to 5.9. 6 months ago my HBA1C went back up to 6.2. Since then I have signed up with a nutritionist who has been advising on what I should eat and how much. Last week I had my 6...

    And the results are in....

Just picked up my HbA1c results and it came back as 5.9%/41 mmol which means I am no longer in the Pre-Diabetic range. Even though this means I am back in the normal range I will still be working on an improved diet and more exercise. A little bit of relief, but still more work to do to drive...

    3 month blood test

@Blaenbran yeah we have cut out potatoes almost totally, same with pasta. Also been doing more exercise as well. When I started the lifestyle changes I weighed 135kg. As of last night I was 127.3. Not a massive amount but it all helps and people have noticed the difference.

    3 month blood test

Well, had my 3 month blood test done this morning. Really hoping that my level has come down enough to avoid becoming full blown diabetic. The waiting game has started!

    Type 2

Sorry for the delay in replying. I do have a meter and strips but don't test. I have been told that there is no valid information that shows regular testing makes any difference. I will look at starting to test regularly soon and take it from there.

    Type 2

Hi, Since being told I was prediabetic, my wife and I have drastically changed how we eat. We used to eat chips and potatoes regularly. we now eat more brown rice, though probably too much as it is a carb. We eat brown spaghetti and everything is fresh vegetables and meat. We try as much as...

    1st BG test done

With the help of my GP wife I was able to take my first BG test. It came back as 6 which she said was ok. We had just been to the cinema and had sweet popcorn. She said that unless I was on Insulin I wouldn't need to test very often. Conor

    Smoothies And Pre-Diabetic

Thanks, I was 135kgs and am down to 129.2kgs. I aim to keep exercising by cycling and changing my diet. Though it may have to wait a couple of days so I can get rid of a UTI fully before starting up again. I haven't got a meter. It was never mentioned that I should get one.

    Smoothies And Pre-Diabetic

Hi, After being told I was Pre-D, I have drastically changed my diet with some help from my wife. I have even lost almost a stone in weight by not eating so many carbs as before. Added to this I no longer add sugar to tea or coffee and user sweetener instead and check the sugar levels in all...

    Pre diabetes

Hope it goes well for you @Bethsmum . I was told I was pre-diabetic about 5 weeks ago and between my wife and I we have made big changes in how we eat and exercise. I never did any exercise until we bought some new bikes and I am now actually starting to enjoy it.
