I want to change my current meds (what are my chances)

Remind me @JeremySE18 who has refused you your medication of choice? Your care is with the specialist. So are they not willing to prescribe it or is it just down to no availability of the drug (due to high demand for weight loss)?

    I give up

I navigated myself without too much advice because I feel that's how I drive. I intend on getting lost so I can then find my home or in this instance weekly Friday weight posting. Then here and there. I might find something else on my way out. Ha ha I love change just not everyday but once...

    Will they stop my metformin?

Hi. I stopped Metformin because of it irritating my IBS. Just returning to it this week on the hopes I don't get any unwanted nor unplanned operations. I always prefer not to be on Metformin before an operation. Just my personal preference. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Metformin...

    We die. Seriously?!

I'm convinced like the elderly we can be written off too early. However so far the NHS has helped me stay alive. I would hv been dead a long time ago. In fact a few times. So in my case diabetes has caused me a complication surrounding other health problems which in turn may cause my life...

    We die. Seriously?!

Well left leg problem has gone. Hurray but right leg is worse. I just hope it's fixing with all the pain going on. I cannot rely on it at all. Electric shocks are still random but only when move.

    Back in Hospital

A friend of mine is starting high protein Christmas hampers. If she can do it then the NHS should find it a doddle.

    We die. Seriously?!

Found an alternative but hugely more expensive and goes off very very quickly so frozen it goes per 2 slices per food bag.

    Back in Hospital

When I'm in hospital I eat the protein and leave the carbs. I have huge insulin resistance but I'm off insulin now. I still add weight from carbs but luckily I keep them low. So no weight gain since a bariatric operation over 3 years ago. I'm just out of hospital from a high risk back operation...

    We die. Seriously?!

Sorry I hadn't replied. Just saw this today. I fi hv a little RH so I strengthened my low carb eating and it backed off. I hv none at all now. My gallbladder removed just over a year ago but that operation was just over 3yrs ago now. I'm just under 15st when not swollen. I had a high risk back...

Hit a wall , no will power

DONT BUY THE **** THEN YOU CANNOT EAT IT. You're mainly addicted to buying the rubbish not the rubbish being your addiction (mostly). So........what can you do about that? Find ways to stop you buying the rubbish. Distraction, someone else do the shopping, avoid bad retailers or shun their...

    Numbess after Carbs/Sugar

My numbness has started with scatica on left side leg and pins and needles in hand and left arm now. On top of right side heavy pain, numbness, weakness and unable to rely on it for walking. Or writing 99% of the time. I'm in a right pickle but having a back operation in late July. Ironically my...

    Diabetes Burnout.

    Who is there manufacturer?

    Diabetes Burnout.

Seems to be a shortage of this drug and only given to certain patients. Myself I wouldn't want it right now but that might change. The future is uncertain. Not sure how much it costs the nhs either. Shortage normally means it pushes the cost of it up.

How long after T2 diagnosis did you start insulin

I was diagnosed in 2002 then on insulin for first time for my first pregnancy in 2006. Off it immediately but 8yrs later I was having a bad time of denial and stopped metformin in fear of being able to fall pregnant again after a rough birth of child no.2 which was a pregnancy on metformin and...

    Numbess after Carbs/Sugar

Hi @ender I see in your created post that you don't hv even prediabetes but have numbness problems? I'm hugely interested in numbness but mine seems to be back related as well as diabetes. One specialist says my back and another says not. Hay ho! Numbness there regardless in fact in my best...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

If I hv constant 4 and 5s on lower fat protein I lose weight because of the right calorie intake and low carb. Most dietitians base on calorie intake but they are now wise to type2 needing lower carbs and decent calorie intake. We are complex. So i would be having higher calorie intake and less...

    Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Weighed in at 98kgs yesterday evening. A bit higher than I'd like but understandable considering. A stressful time and down like a yo-yo. Like a mild illness, it won't last forever.
