    I dont care anymore.

Hi Keisha. I went through something very similar myself just over a year ago now. I had just started a new job too, and stopped caring about my diabetes because I was too busy with other things in life. Eventually my friends and partner were the ones who gave me the kick I needed to start...

    Technology to manage Type 1.

Haha, it's not as hard as you might think, although I suppose I did grow up with computers. Are you type 1? Anything specific you'd like to try? Some of these things can genuinely make your life easier if you put in the time.

    Technology to manage Type 1.

I bought a jawbone up move from amazon. A company similar to fitbit, but this device is incredibly cheap and monitors almost everything bar the heart rate. It only cost £32.50! I wouldn't be able to wear a wrist band at work sadly due to infection control.

    Bed time highs.

There's always a reason, sometimes it's just difficult to find. Patience is important with diabetes but it's hard when yours or a loved ones health is at stake.

Unusual. In the DAFNE course they recommend splitting Levemir as the best course of action using basal insulin to control sugars. As far as I see you can increase the fast acting ratio at bedtime to reduce the highs, and reduce the basal to stop bms dropping overnight. Another possibility is...

    Bed time highs.

You can always increase the ratio of fast acting to carbs at bedtime?

    Bed time highs.

It's worth mentioning that lantus is licensed for once daily use, you shouldn't really split that one.

    Bed time highs.

Have you or him done DAFNE? It's fantastic for teaching you what to do in situations like this. I would try decreasing the basal insulin by small amounts. It should be keeping him level overnight, not dropping his blood sugars.

How are his blood sugars during the rest of the day? Perhaps it's worth decreasing the basal?

Hi, what basal insulin does your son use and when does he take it?

I'd be interested to know your conclusion. With regard to steps, I migt buy a flex rather than a charge hr then I can just wear it round my ankle.

    Accu-Chek Combo is still available!

Ah, I never used a combo so I suppose I don't miss either of those things. I don't mind waiting 10 seconds for it to load. The small cartridges thing is fine for me, I just carry a couple with me in my bag at all times.

    Shift Work

Hi, Anyone who does shift work or works nights have any experience in altering infusion rates? I find it alters my circadian rhythm and my normal daytime profile doesn't work anymore, my blood sugars go haywire.

What makes you think the insight is a step back from the combo?

    Help! Accu Chek Insight Pump!!

Hi, I use the insight pump. Do you have any specific questions? My nurses sat down with me for hours when I got it and explained everything in detail, did they not do the same for you?

    Technology to manage Type 1.

That looks fantastic! I'm unfortunately not using cgm at the moment. I'd love to use a charge hr, but I work in the nhs and with their strict bare below the elbows policy I'm not sure I could get away with wearing one around my wrist, unless I can persuade them it's for health reasons. Do you...

    Technology to manage Type 1.

Hi all, I've had type 1 diabetes for over a decade now and just started on an insulin pump a few weeks ago. Since then the whole world of how technology can help to manage diabetes has opened up to me. I can produce graphs, and make small adjustments much easier than I could previously. What...
