    Yeah, I think some counselling would definitely help, you are drinking because something is bothering you it was similar with me when I started smoking, glad to say I haven't smoked for more than seven months now, so you can beat the alcohol as well :)

    Not really sure what you could do with alcohol, I'd suggest it's a good idea to take time out of work or whatever you do go to a rehab if that's possible.     For taste I always had Russian Standard but I have no idea how it affects blood sugar, I'd usually mix it with other alcohol or drink it straight :P

    I had a DKA at diagnosis so it's obviously a bit different, but I felt terrible when I went in to hospital I felt pretty bad afterwards but still a lot better than I had in the months before.

    I don't drink any, I tried it once had three pints which is nothing compared to my usual night of drinking and it was affecting my blood sugar almost a day later. So I've given up on the alcohol saving myself a lot of money :)
