Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi @Amy.W I actually got induced on the 4th and had him via emergency c section on the 7th due to his heart dropping with each contraction i had. Thankfully all turned out fine and he is perfect, no time needed in hospital for him or anything, not even low blood sugar. He weighed 7lbs and we...

    How are everyone's pregnancies going?

I have been very impressed wit the care in Italy, like i said they have given me a pump and funded a dexcom for me. I am having scans fortnightly (mainly due to my sjogrens which puts the baby at risk of a heart block, but thankfully everything is all good so far). They don't do gas and air...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi @Bizzy-Bee sorry for the late reply but i have been very busy! The other week i had appointments on Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri and Sat! Ended up seeing a cardiologist and everything! I have only had my hba1c checked once during the pregnancy and that was 6.4% not had it done since...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

I have had about 3 scans so far (including 1 today) and all is looking good thanks goodness! I wasnt offered the omni pod and seeing as though i get the dexcom provided if i have the animas vibe thought it would be best to go with that. Thanks @Cashmere

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

It was 7.1% but it could have been lower than that as that was in June and we fell pregnant in the November

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi @Amy.W I did buy the libre but never got to try it as the hospital here in Italy gave me a pump combined with the dexcom so not having to pay for it at the moment so cant help there I'm afraid. See your Hba1c has come down, well done, its a step in the right direction

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi @Bizzy-Bee , i am now on the dexcom and started on the pump but i only lasted 2 days as was going away and kept having really bad highs, turns out the cannula kept bending so i am back there on Wednesday to hopefully try again with some other type of insertion set so i actually get insulin. I...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Just got my latest hba1c back and i am pleased to report that its 6.4% (or 46 in the new range), really please with that from 7.1% last time, hopefully i will be able to keep it at that or even reduce it even more with the dexcom and pump combo i am starting soon! :-)

    Hba1c and conceiving...

No problem @Amy.W , glad to help! Things are going ok thanks, currently 7 weeks pregnant (i think), waiting for an appointment with an ob so i can get things moving but due to the festive period it has been difficult. Sugars are always low at the moment so that is ok as i don't have my libre...

    Hba1c and conceiving...

I have just ordered the freestyle libre (just waiting for it to be delivered). You just sign up for this 1 by email and it is self funded but afraid i have no idea about applying for an NHS funded CGM. The libre cost about £130 for the machine and 2 sensors and then £100 a month for the sensors...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi @Bizzy-Bee Nice to hear i'm not alone in this situation :-) I sure expected it to take longer than 1 month lol. My sugars have not been too bad over the Christmas period (a couple of 10's - oops) but mainly lows. Are you going on a pump for the pregnancy then? i'm seeing my diabetic dr on...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

@Amy.W not for too long, my last hb1c was 7.1% and dr said she would like it a little lower, i decided to have my implant out anyway and thought it would take a lot longer than 1 month to get pregnant so was still quite a shock. Saw my GP this morning who didn't really say much, just gave me a...

Freaking out slightly about positive result!

Hi all, well today i got 2 positive test results, still slightly freaking out about it (as the title suggests!). Know the first thing i need to do is go to my GP and get it confirmed, due to see my endo on 4th Jan so thinking that should be ok (only saw her earlier on in the week but didn't...

    Pre conception worries

The CGM was great, i ove it and didnt want to give it back (it was only for a trial for 2 weeks to see what was happening with my sugars - the hospital lent it to me). Showed me some trends and that i needed to change the time of my long acting. It was also great as i could catch highs before...
