    Weights vs Carbs

Great! Thanks for clearing that up! :)

Chocoholics Anonymous - Please post your (Diabetic friendly) chocolate suggestions here :)

I don't suppose most people here will have protein powder at home, but I am an avid gymgoer and like to keep an eye on carbohydrates. I don't have diabetes but have an interest in it :) Anyway, I love having a beltsander brownie (takes 2 minutes to make) with some strawberries and a tablespoon...

    Weights vs Carbs

Hey, I was just having a look through the fitness forums here. I am not diabetic but was interested to see the difficulties and issues people with diabetes may have. I take for granted just being able to go to the gym and do what I want when I want. Anyway, I do not have advice specifically...

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

I wasn't leading or at least I tried not to :o And Yes, I agree! I posted that I have my answer on the first page but it was probably too subtle. Thanks for putting up with me. And sorry to all those if I've done your head in [emoji5] .

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

Thank-you to everyone who has replied. The poll shows 90% as saying no, so this answers my question. :) Hope everyone has a great day.

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

Even if you wouldn't touch it you can still tell me if you see the labeling terms as being different or not. I would like to clarify the point of the project is not to see if people would like to eat these foods. The purpose is to see why they do or do not eat them. So everyone who has said...

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

Hi Catherine, It's for my elective project as a final year medical student, and is based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour (a behavioural model). It has nothing to do with market research I can assure you and everyone else.

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

I can see you don't agree with the labelling system and you make a good point with regards to the definition of diabetic foods, but going back to the original question, do you see the two terms as meaning the same thing or not? Sorry - I am just trying to keep the thread on track and concise. I...

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

Haha, Robbity! Thank-you for replying guys: Even if you do not agree with these foods or eat them, would you/do you see those two labels in the original post highlighted in green as being different, or do they mean the same thing to you? - This is really the main thing I am trying to get from...

Food labelled as 'Diabetic' vs 'Suitable for Diabetics'. Do you differentiate?

Hello, I hope everyone is having a good day. :) Some of you may have followed/read/replied my other thread on my questionnaire project to find out how many diabetic patients eat diabetic foods and why. I am back and wanting to see whether diabetic patients differentiate between these two...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

I have a draft title. It's my elective project which all medical students do in their fourth of fifth (final) year and it can really be in any speciality. This is a big undertaking and a steep learning curve for me so thank you so much to everyone for bearing with me.

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

I mentioned earlier that I don't believe those on here necessarily represent the general diabetic population. Furthermore, from the information here I've managed to gather beliefs regarding diabetic labeled foods. No study/survey has been done on this topic so either way it will be a good to see...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

Hi donnellysdogs, That's a fair point and I see where you're coming from. There are 2 main reasons: I thought I may catch some people on here who do eat them. I thought I may catch some people on here who used to eat them and what they believed about the foods then prior to their...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

I know many people can't think of advantages here, and I would guess one of the main reasons for that is because everyone here has thankfully done their research and is aware there really are no real advantages of eating diabetic labeled foods. The aim of the project will not be to promote...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

Yes it could but it doesn't. To be more specific in this case, when i mention diabetic labelled foods I am referring to foods (typically confectionary) which are typically lower in sugar, with added sweeteners.:) Thank-you for pointing that out.

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

That is fine. I really do appreciate your effort nonetheless. Even if you answer with advantages that may cause fellow diabetics to purchase them that will be helpful. Same goes for the other question questions. I.e. some may believe that diabetic foods are safer for blood sugar control and...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

Thank-you for replying Avacado and tim2000s, question 5 should have been referring to diabetic labelled foods, not fruits and vegetables. doh. This is what happens when I've been up since 4 am. Doh. Sorry! I've corrected it in the original post and the post above.

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

Everyone on here has been super helpful! :) I hope everyone is well. I wanted to ask what you would consider possible barriers (not including side effects, etc) to eating diabetic labelled foods, whether through personal past/present experience or from friends/family.I have put them in the...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

Squire, my original question is about food as this is the project I am looking to do. My interest is in obesity/diabetes/lifestyle/preventative medicine and the power of 'real' food on health, so it covers a very broad range of topics. I think my range of interests is too broad lol  I...

Diabetic Labelled Foods: What do you think?

I'm not dissociating them. Just that my curriculum focuses more on medical management unfortunately so that's what I discussed more but I have discussed diet also. I don't think clinical was the right word to use above. :) apologies for any confusion
