Thanks for the birthday wish - I was under the impression it was free however I have heard mixed information, and as such wanted to check - I will of course speak to the team closer to the time, just wanted a rough idea.

    Prescriptions

Hey all, I haven't posted here in a while, been really busy with exams recently! It is my birthday today (hooray!) - and while I am still 2 years from being 18, I was wondering if I will have to pay for prescriptions (test strips, insulin, needles etc) when I turn 18, and if so, how much will...

    How long?

Hmm, I'm not sure exactly what to advise as I've never had this problem but a month is ridiculous! I'm sure an admin will arrive soon that can help you out with this, best of luck!

    Sudden high sugar levels

Hey, I will be speaking to the team today as I have a hospital app. Thanks for the suggestions, It's probably subconscious stress, or perhaps growth. I change my injection sites very often, not sure about the cartridges but they seem to work fine as correction units do make a difference, I'll...

Hey all I have been diabetic for 6 years now, initially I had lots of problems with low sugar levels, but for the past 2 years or so my sugar levels have been consistently good, for the past 2 weeks or so, my sugar levels have been high (for seemingly no reason). Just been diagnosed

Heya, might be a bit too old for you, but I'm turning 16 in 2 months so probably close enough. I was diagnosed at age 10, since then, no one has seen me in any different light. I still remain friends with friends from primary school, and have managed to make several friends in secondary, none...

    Help please

Hello, welcome to the forum! As irritating as it is, carb counting is important as it ensures that she will recieve the right amount of insulin. There are many guides on carb counting online, and I'm sure some of the admins from this forum (@noblehead) can help you!

    Safe level

Speak to your doctor about hypo awareness as soon as you can, it's important that you can recognize when you are low. As for normal levels, I tend to try and get between 4 and 6, I personally consider 8-10 high, but it varies between people, as @azure said, speak to your consultant. Best of luck

    Lantus injections?

For a second I was very panicked, as I accidentally misread this as "I had the best result injecting my lantus in my ear".

    Diabetic eye test

:D - I've never had eye drops personally, not sure why they would need them, glad it all went well!

    Lantus injections?

I find that Lantus does sting slightly, this is probably because it's slightly acidic, on the topic of bruising, I get that occasionally but not always. In simple terms, it's normal :)

hahahahah... No I love how they tried to sound smart with the comparison of not curing but making it easier, I don't think so!

    Diabetic eye test

Personally I've never had eye-drops but I would advise taking sunglasses, as stuff will appear bright after, but don't worry about it, it will be fine :)
