    Settle a disagreement

Hi Everyone Can you settle a disagreement between myself and James. If when he gets up with a reading of between 3.5 and 4.5 and his monitor says to have 12g of carbs to bring him up, should he just get on with his breakfast and key in the necessary carbs or like he says eat 12g carbs, then...

    ACCU CHEK PUMP

Hi Everyone, James is having a pattern with his morning readings at the moment in that he wakes up with a good reading, then 1 and half hours later after having porridge and toast for breakfast his readings are sometimes in double figures, then even if he does not do a correction, he comes...

    MOVING OVER TO ADULT SECTION

Had a phone call this week to say they are moving James to the adult section and wondered how he feels about it. He will see consultant once a year and nurse between 4 and 6 months. A VERY VERY HAPPY CHAPPIE

Since my last post on curries for coeliacs, I phoned the local Indian Restaurant and asked if there was any gluten etc in the Lamb Biryani and veg curry which was what James wanted and was told no. So I ordered a takeaway on the phone and both James and I went to collect. The waiters were very...

    COELIAC QUESTION

Another question with regard to gluten free products and products that may have been handled with gluten wheat etc. If James does not show any symptoms of products handled with gluten etc can I be sure that he is not being affected by it. The reason for this is although his blood tests show he...

    GLUTEN FREE READY MADE CURRY

Hi Everyone Not been on here for a while but do look in sometimes to see if I am able to give any of my wisdom now and then. My question is James is wanting to go for an Indian meal with his mates as a few of them are having a combined 17th birthday meal. Rather than be left out and if the...

    DRWF

Speaking to a lady living nearby and what came up in conversation was that she donates to the Diabetes Research and Wellness Foundation knowing that James has diabetes. I must admit I felt so ignorant in that I had not heard of this. Has anyone here heard of it . I have gone to their website...

    HERE WE GO

First day of GCSE'S and although it's only day 1 the pump seems to be a lot better controlling James's BG's than the MDI's. Hope now I haven't spooked him. He also does not seem so stressed so fingers crossed. Time will tell.

    CANNULA CHANGES AND HIGH READINGS

Hi Everyone Does anyone get the same problem as James. When he changes his cannula or complete infusion he tends to get high readings for a least a day and has to treat them with corrections and TBR's. I know this is not the answer, but does anyone else get the same and if so what do you do to...
