    High blood pressure anyone?

Get yourself a bp machine and take yourself at home. Do it regularly and keep note of the results on your phone. Doctors will still want to do their own check, but you can show them your results. They are not expensive

    Non-steroid option for arthritis pain?

I’ve had several steroid injections in my neck and shoulders, and yes it does raise your glucose levels for a few days, but living with the pain wasn’t doing me any good either. I took a bit more insulin, and when steroids were doing their job I was able to exercise more.

    Dupuytren's contracture

I have dupuytren’s contracture in both hands, as has my brother. The bumps were staring to get painful. About 10-12 years ago I had radio therapy on them. This treatment wasn’t common in the uk, but it was in Germany. It stopped the growth, and pain. I believe there are other treatments now...

    Gliclazide replaced by Jardiance

The only side effect I had when swapping to empiogliflozone was weight loss, I went from over 13 stone down 10 pounds. Unfortunately over 2 years that has now come back

    Freestyle Libre 2 app

I have been using the Libre 2 sensors & app for several years now, and apart from the odd faulty sensor I’ve not come across any problems. On Friday that app wouldn’t open, I tried several times, rebooted my phone a couple of times but it wouldn’t open. I deleted the app so I could reload...

    Tv miss understanding of diabetes

He had dropped his insulin pen and she gave him a shot from it. You didn’t see him being fed, the fact that he was semi conscious led me to believe they were implying a hypo

    Tv miss understanding of diabetes

I get so annoyed about tv shows that try to portray a diabetic, but get things horribly wrong. I’ve just watched one of the Majorca files, where a diabetic man gets abducted and locked in a cage. He gets found later in the programme barely conscious, one of the detectives gives him a shot of...

Where do you wear your libre sensor?

I’m glad I’m not the only person who walks into door frames, thought there was something wrong with me. I now stick to the back of my arm, slightly more inconvenient, but sensor doesn’t get knocked off anymore. I do have an issue though, I’ve just had my Hba1c from doctors blood test and...

    Empagliflozin and infection prevention

I’ve been on empaglilozin for 1 year, I was told just to make sure I drink plenty, which I do. Have had no problem with fungal infection or prostate. My bg numbers are much lower than they used to be. This is as well as sticking to a low carb diet.

    Empagliflozin/Jardiance and Metformin

I’ve been on empag for 7 months now, after letting my bg get a bit out of control. Along with cutting bread, rice, and pasta from my diet my bg has dropped steadily. My Hba1c is now 6.2 super happy. I’ve been able to reduce insulin intake by 20%, now hoping to also reduce metformin as well...

I have found some cracker made by rude health, they are made with chickpea and lentil. I have been checking and I do not believe they made my bg rise.

    Victoza

About 5 years ago I was put on Victoria, as a way to not go on insulin. I couldn’t cope with the side effects. I did loose about a stone, but the constant bloated feeling was horrible. I came off it and had to go onto insulin instead. I hope you fared better.

    Empagliflozin/Jardiance and Metformin

I’ve always been told that insulin does make you gain weight. My blood sugar got a bit out of control earlier this year, I went to see a consultant, he put me on Empagliflozin. Along with cutting out any form of bread, and lowering my overall intake of carbs as much as possible my blood sugar...

BBC Food: Truth or Scare on the Ketogenic Diet

Unfortunately the bbc are like other media companies, and follow their own agenda. I find that they are so biased now. But who do you trust, if even documentaries don’t give you the truth?

    Low carb pre-prepared snacks.. rant

Signed The problem is, the food industry has been fooling us and lying to us for ages. Take the low fat yoghurt that doesn’t tell you it’s got far more sugar than normal yoghurt. You cannot trust the industry to self govern. It’s like putting a turkey in charge of Xmas dinner.

    Breakfast

Yes, I found breakfast a problem. Now I have either eggs of some kind, or grilled field mushrooms, tomatoes, and 3 lumps of frozen spinach.
