    I think honey is one of the better sweeteners. I use it in tea and sometimes on toast. Make sure it is pure honey and doesn’t have glucose added. I tailor my insulin accordingly. I am Type 2 insulin dependent.

    I think it might relate to the state of your immune system. Mine is over active and I generally have a severe reaction. Also the fact that we have diabetes is a reflection of the immune system.

    I found the meds were hopeless and now only do insulin. Takes getting used to but heaps better control. Also there is nothing wrong with going to an endocrinologist.

    Don't be apologetic about having diabetes. It's a matter of life or death and it's not your fault. The world around you will adjust to your routine. Do what you think is safe for you. Lots of cheers and good luck. PS: always keep a carb snack in your hand bag.

    Type 2 is a term which covers a spectrum. Some of us don't produce enough insulin while others have problems with absorption, etc. No one regime is going to be suitable for all of us.
