I don't see how they can reduce my "health checks" any further.
In my almost 6 years of being diagnosed I've seen my nurse maybe 6 times, my consultant 3 times and the GP once and he tried to tell me I could reverse my diabetes through diet and exercise
I had a breakdown,. Tried to off...
Just a flying visit from me. I'm looking for a recommendation... Me and my girl have been diagnosed for almost 6 years now. Jeez! Everything's going pretty swimmingly in terms of the emo pancreases at least. My girl is 16 now and has decided she wants to use the freestyle libre... She's always...
She most certainly is mine, but I take no credit for the way she manages her diabetes. That's all her own doing. I have no involvement whatsoever bar ordering her prescriptions! For a 14 year old girl to be as responsible as she is, I think she's amazing.
Realistically though, she doesn't actually do any work. She is just the face of the sh*t storm we are currently in. She has aides that do the scut work...
I'm taking her for blood tests on Friday so won't really know anymore until we get those results back. The only "treatment" that's been mentioned at the minute is strong steroid cream. I think it's just a case of wait and see. My stress levels at the minute are through the roof.
If he's not eating, don't give him his fast acting insulin. You can always give him insulin after he has eaten so he doesn't go hypo if he doesn't eat all his food.
I'm just going to sneak this in here... I'm gutted. My eldest girl has been diagnosed with alopecia areata. An autoimmune disease. I've clearly passed on a **** immune system to both my girls seeing as I kindly donated type 1 to the youngest. FML.
But what exactly IS a diabetic meal? No such thing. I can eat whatever I want to if I choose to. There are meals that are more suitable to those of us with diabetes, yes. Diabetic specific meal? No.
At least they are on the right track with the diabetes diagnosis! My GP diagnosed me with acid reflux for a year before I ended up in A&E with DKA and a type 1 diagnosis :D
Microblading is essentially a wound in your skin. You can definitely have it done, but I would recommend consistently in range BGL for a few weeks before and certainly afterwards whilst healing. Follow all aftercare guidelines and you'll be just grand.
I was already covered in tatts before...
It took me a good few months to get consistently in range. I think I was diabetic for many months before I was eventually diagnosed. Be kind to yourself. It's a lot to take in all at once. You will have to discuss your insulin doses with your DSN, nobody here can advise you on that.
42 is great! Well done. HbA1c is calculated as an average over the previous 3 months. Your finger prick results probably would match up if you'd taken a reading every minute of every day... Your finger pricks are just a glimpse in time as to what your BGL is doing.
You can go to a pharmacy and get an urgent prescription for our insulin until you sort it out with your GP. I suggest you to your GPs tomorrow, first thing and refuse to leave until it's sorted.
With that amount of carbs you eat daily and you being diagnosed 4 years ago, I think it's safe to say, if you were type 1, your fasting level would be a lot higher than 10... and chances are you'd be dead by now without exogenous insulin.
I don't see why it would be a problem. If it's 40 hours over 6 days instead of 5, you'd be working less hours per day so it might be better for you... But if you already have a contract that states you do 40 hours over 5 days, bring this to the temp manager's attention. Are they aware you are...
