    Still waiting

I'm getting really frustrated with my Diabetes team, I had a few days on a CGM over a month ago now and they still haven't followed up like they said they would. Yesterday i finally managed to get through to the diabetes centre, this is no mean feat, last time it took me over 3 weeks to speak to...

    Correction Query

After my adventures on CGM I have some new carb/insuulin ratios to work to, 1:15 for lunch, 1:20 for dinner. Can anyone tell me if corrections should be worked out at the food/insulin rate or on a general 1u = 3mmol drop rate?

    My CGM results

I went to have my CGM taken off this morning and to go through the readings. I have to say I think 2 days is nowhere near long enough to start identifying trends but hey ho. The DSN seemed to think that my Lantus is too high and has told me totry treducing it by 2u a day. I gave up telling her...

CGM and a disappointing conversation about pumps

So, I've been given a CGM, went today to have it fitted and I'll go back on Thursday to go through the results, I was surprised by how tiny it is, I was expecting some kind of cannula/monitor combination but it's just a sensor attached by a wire no more than 2 inches round The nurse I saw...

Do you get to choose which pump?

Apologies if this has been covered, I couldn't find a thread or anything on the web. I just wondered, if you are lucky enough to get approved for a pump do you get to choose which one you have or is it down to whatever pumps the diabetes specialist is offering? If you really wantesd a certain...

    Sanofi-Aventis withdraw some insulin pens

I've just seen this on the diabetes UK site, I'm currently using the OptipenPro but the replacements look alright to me. As long as there's a choice of colours I'm happy :D http://www.diabetes.org.uk/About_us/New ... ulin-pens/

Splitting Lantus - Not a good start

Does anyone else take split doses of Lantus? I have finally succumed to my Diabetes Specialist and have started splitting my Lantus into 2 doses (13 units AM and 6 units PM) as taking the full 19 units in one at 10.30am is causing me to have high BS readings every morning and hypos in the...

A couple of questions about pumps

Hello all, I've recently joined this forum and have been lurking and reading up on all things pump-related. Up until a month ago I was adamant that a pump was not for me but since my last HBA1C was back up in the 8s after all my hard work to get it down to 6.3 only 6 months ago I'm seeing the...

    Howdy

Hello, I'm an old timer Type 1 (14 years now) I'm hoping to pick up some tips about maintaining a better HBA1c, I managed to get mine down to 6.4 after being in the 8/9s for the last 10 years but it has somehow crept back up to 8 when I was tested a couple of weeks ago. I'm carb counting and...
