possible to have hypos with high blood levels

My hypothesis is that a hypo reaction occurs when our brain is inadequately fueled. And if our brain has become insulin resistant, it would require a higher level of glucose to feel normal. From fasting experiments of healthy adults, when glucose levels dropped, ketones levels are increased to...

    What Caused Your RH?

I have had it since my early teens, but it was not until my T2D diagnosis in my 40s and closely monitoring blood glucose, that the dots connected. A couple of hours after a heavy breakfast or strong oolong tea, I will be all jittery and breaks into a cold sweat. This would be a typical...

After years of disputes...NIH latest study confirms...

Yes, it is pointless to those who chose to dismiss it. But for the tens of millions that continue to struggle for years to maintain stable glucose, it could just mean they are days or weeks away from drug-free, stable glucose.

Why won't the NHS tell you the secret to treating diabetes?

This was in the opening paragraph of Dr Taylor's 2013 paper... From the very beginning... his hypothesis is framed in the context of negative calorie balance... although the mechanism for "substantial fall in liver fat content" is actually very well understood by all... As we all know... a...

Why won't the NHS tell you the secret to treating diabetes?

Exactly. T1D have difficulty getting fatty liver. Because the insulin concentration in the liver can never be high enough vs T2D. It means that T1D, even if they inject huge amount of insulin, they do not get fatty liver... systemic/circulatory insulin concentration cannot never reach the same...

Why won't the NHS tell you the secret to treating diabetes?

Yes... because he is fixated with the idea that calorie reduction is the ONLY sure way of reducing liver fats... even though he noted that it is the substantial lowering of insulin/glucose (by our inference/interpretation, carbs reduction) that will result in reducing liver fat...

Why won't the NHS tell you the secret to treating diabetes?

It is interesting to note Dr Roy Taylors observation... on insulin's effect on liver fat https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3609491/ So the focus for individuals should be on finding a sustainable insulin lite approach, of which calorie reduction is only one of them, matching their...

Newly diagnosed, is it really RH?

Two more points I note from your experience:- If this is the case, you have very little body fats, in that case even going low carbs/ketone may not significantly increase ketones for you. Even if it does, that may not be a good idea because if you are not burning fats... the only other thing...

Newly diagnosed, is it really RH?

Perhaps this write-up might give you something to think about... Broadly there's 3 key variables here... 1) Glucose 2) Insulin 3) Ketones For metabolically normal people, Glucose stays around 4.0-6.0 mmol. Insulin/Ketones levels are seldom measured. Our brain is typically fueled by glucose...

    Fats and Insulin Resistance

Not sure if you have ever considered Dr Joseph Kraft's study on hyperinsulinemia. But I think that is central to understanding the conflicting low cal/carb results that is often generated.
