    The trouble is your trying to be responsible. It seems to me that dumping needles on the street works instantly. Ever considered gluing the boxes into a sculpture and sending them to the tate modern, you may win a prize and at the very least highlight the problem to the powers that be.

    Not this one but have followed the Michael Mosley varient with some success. Lost 5kg. Insulin cut from 34 units a day to 13. Lost 2 inches on waist and gone from x large tee shirts to large. Blood sugar readings averaging 7 from 8.5 but with much less insulin. 9 weeks and continuing with it...

    8.2 but just started a low carb diet, cut insulin down from 16 units am and 18 pm to 12 and 12, waist size dropped 1 inch and feeling really good so happy at 8.2.

    how much does metformin actually help ?

    Ive been trialling one of the slow release tablets ( 500mg)at a rate of two per day for the past 7 weeks and so far its made not a jot of difference to my readings, in fact flatulence seems to be the only thing its done to me.

    And all this after the staff regularly attend training days. I was told to eat less cheese, drink skimmed milk and avoid red meat like the plague. Ignored all those and Im still alive with no heart issues, both my legs and with a good weight and spot on BMI . Sadly they churn out this rubbish...

    Beware of the restrictions on the 3 year licence, read the driving class carefully. Also you will need to carry a spare meter , test before driving and every 2 hours during the journey. :think:

    Have you had trouble getting test strips?

    Not as such, however My meter was changed from the Accuchek aviva to the Wavesense Jazz as a cost cutting exercise, and what a load of rubbish it is. Poorly made , cheap feel and very lightweight. However on the bright side Ive just renewed my 3 yr driving licence which comes with guidence notes...

    In praise of Health Care Professionals.

    My GPs seem switched on, local diabetes nurse really switched on, just a pity the practice manager isnt. :? Not a lot to complain about from my point of view as most of the time most of the staff listen instead of lecturing, so thats good.
