Clinic Appointments during and after Coronavirus

Thanks @Fairygodmother - I do use the Libre yes and my consultant originally prescribed me with it a while back. However, they've never asked for any results from it and since they've now sent this letter I guess it's unlikely. I understand there will be pressure/shortages in the system due to...

Clinic Appointments during and after Coronavirus

Thanks everyone. I contacted the GP practice initially to get their take on it and they told me they don't have their copy of the letter yet. Supposed to be getting a call back to discuss it on Monday now so will see what they say to begin with. I need to ask them what they're currently doing...

Clinic Appointments during and after Coronavirus

Thanks @EllieM, I knew there was something on that form about it but couldn't remember what. Not sure whether having basic foot check and bloods taken would count as seeing someone about the condition when you're unable to discuss it with them properly. I take your point that it could work...

Help me understand last night's horrendous hypo

No way unless you can get them in pens which tell you when you last injected. I use Novopen Echo for my Fiasp and Levemir and it will tell me when I last injected with one up to 12 hours. I think there are addons you can get for pens of other brands which will do similar. I'll echo @Antje77 and...

Clinic Appointments during and after Coronavirus

Thanks for your replies. It doesn't actually say that they're dismissing me personally from the service. It says that they're redesigning the service and if you want to see a consultant in future (and I'm assuming it means everyone here) then the GP or practice nurse will have to refer you each...

Clinic Appointments during and after Coronavirus

Hi, been a while since I've been around and posted here. I'm interested in how clinic appointments have been handled and are planned to be handled in future for other people in light of the outbreak. I don't see or interact with my team often and had pretty much 1 clinic appointment a year...

Should I split bolus for McDonald's?

I have done based on the amount of carbs ordered and/or whether it is rather high fat content. More upfront though.

    Why pay pump insurance?

No, I included it in the final figure. ((35x12)x19.5)+100 = AU$8290 Granted, you paid very slowly for it.

    Why pay pump insurance?

That must be one fancy fridge to have paid over AU$8000 for it. :wideyed:

    Today’s carbs.

Catching up for yesterday: Bowl of porridge with a few dark chocolate chips scattered on top for breakfast. Later on in the morning had a chocolate waffle as well. Then nothing until dinner which was hunter's chicken, chips and veg consisting of peas, carrots and green beans. Today I skipped...

    Type 1'stars R Us

Afternoon all. I've been to an initial clinic appointment to talk about pump therapy today. I've had a look at both and have come away with some literature for the Minimed 670G and Omnipod with a demo pod to try. Lots of reading and researching to begin to see if I think if it would suit me and...

    to Miao Miao or not?

I had Blucon before the MiaoMiao2 - yes it works, yes its stable but I found it more of a pain to keep over the sensor. I have a nice nifty 3D printed holder for the MiaoMiao2 from eBay which clips it directly onto the sensor. The Blucon also isn't water resistant unless you buy that version for...

    to Miao Miao or not?

Yes, definitely! I use the MiaoMiao2 with xDrip+ on a Google Pixel. I still scan a few times a day in the official app. Advantages to me: Current glucose value and trend direction sent to phone automatically every 5~ minutes. Current glucose value visible all the time using Always on Display...

Low carb or no carb - lessons learned...

I'm not on big doses but I need more at night than through the day with my morning dose generally. I'm on a 60/40 split roughly on most days.
