    New to Gliclazide

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I shall watch the video - certainly food for thought, but after nearly 30 years since diagnosis and a lifetime of so-called healthy diets, I guess I am just weary - which is not to say that I am giving up on my health and how I can help myself!

    New to Gliclazide

Hello all, I have been Type 2 for over 28 years, and Hba1c levels usually around 53. Cut carbs in 2019 and lost some weight. Over the last year, Hba1c risen considerably (to 75), which was addressed firstly with Anagliptin (no effect) then Jardiance ( no effect and made me I'll). After 2 weeks...

    Gallstones

I had my gallbladder removed by keyhole surgery 30 years ago. I felt instantly better and have not had any resultant problems - unless I have eaten vast amounts of double cream or other high fat food, when I was simply asking for trouble! I have also taken Metformin for around 25 years, and...

Introduce Yourself: Answer Some Personal Questions

Hello! Picked up on this thread as I see you are from North Norfolk as am I (resident, not from birth). I have been part of this community for 2 years- more reading than posting - and have always found members really helpful and willing to share their experience and information. I shall...

    Public Health Collaboration 2019

This looks like a really informative event. I look forward to reading any feedback or viewing any videoclips which attendees or speakers are kind enough to share afterwards.

    That sounds a sensible solution!

    Time Regulated Eating and sleep

No, other than not eating after 6 pm, when historically I would have had a (non-caffeinated) drink and snack around 9 pm. Oh well, c’est la vie - it’s not the end of the world, just annoying. Thanks for your interest though.

    Time Regulated Eating and sleep

Normal sleep for me would be 11pm to 7 am approx. Last night I was in bed for 1045, read about 30 mins, then lights out. Still awake 1230 am - up for the loo (boredom as much as anything). Resettled down. When I decided I just couldn’t sleep, admitted defeat and put the light on- 0320 am. Read...

    Time Regulated Eating and sleep

I have just started eating in a smaller daily timeframe, initially 12 hours between meals, then 14 hours. I have no problem with hunger pangs, and positive results with blood glucose and weight, however, I lie awake for hours and hours. Has anyone else experienced this? I feel as though I...

    can you reverse T2 permanently?

Well, all I can say is that I have had type 2 diabetes for at least 25 years that I am aware of, and not on insulin, only metformin. I followed Rosemary Conley low fat diet for years, and have been following low carb diet (with greater success) for about a year now. I shall certainly do...

    Disappointing Evening

25 years for me since diagnosis. Take metformin but no other medication, and since I discovered these helpful people on this forum, I have lost weight and hugely reduced HbA1c through low-carb. Anyone who tells me type 2 is progressive will be told something back!

    Self sabotage

Oh! Soggy cabbage! The smell, let alone the taste!

    Self sabotage

This is a confession. Today I participated in an hour’s aerobic dance class, then popped into the supermarket on the way home to buy weekly “trash” magazine (another bad habit, why I am supporting Katie Price I don’t know - but that’s another issue). I bought and ate a jam and cream scone from...

    Stupid question of the day

Hello All, well my husband and Grandson are eating chicken goujons and Minion tinned spaghetti shapes for tea (I have had a full half term of trying to get sensible food down a youngster on its way to the rubbish bin). Just wanted to ask what most of you eat to accompany various nut butters? I...

I think so, and knows about ratio, so think she has enough understanding to argue her case - every bit of info helps though. Thanks again.

    The Horror's Of Universal Credit.

I am so dispirited with the government. I have 2 sons both awaiting tribunals. First son has schizophrenia and managed to get no points from his PIP assessment, despite receiving DLA for several years. He was even asked “have you still got schizophrenia “ like it was measles. Psychiatrist wrote...
