    BG average in range

For the first time in at least 90 days, my BG average is now in range. In the "blue zone" for the last few weeks but dropping towards it for the last 30-40 days. Now to maintain this consistency forever. I don't think I've ever looked forward to a HbA1c before! :)

    Heightened BG Awareness

I have improved my control dramatically in the last month. Hitting my range 30% more often in April than I did in March. I believe that is down to many things, not least this forum and the help and advice of the online T1 community on the whole. Just reading of others' opinions, information and...

    Pump Advice Please

I've been reading a little about pumps and had a brief chat with my DN about one last year. I wondered if you kind folk might offer your opinions on a few questions for me: - How quickly did you adjust to a pump from injecting? - How comfortable is it? I assume not very at first but you adjust...

    Analysing Your BG

How are others analysing their BG data? Assuming you bother at all :) I find it interesting and helpful to upload to my laptop. I guess it depends on your BG monitor/software if you can do that. I haven't done it for a while but certainly will be doing so weekly in future (given my last HbA1c)...

    Easter Holidays & Prescriptions

Remember it's a 4 day weekend coming up. Good Friday (Apr 14) and Easter Monday (Apr 17) are Bank Holidays so most pharmacies will be closed. Don't forget to get your meds before that if you're running low or about to run low. Just a heads up as I'm going through BG testing strips like nobodies...

When The Penny Dropped For You?

After T1 diagnosis, at what point did the penny drop for you that you've got a serious condition? I've had a few pennies drop, a handful of change - you might say. Significantly: - A week after diagnosis. Discharged from hospital and feeling "Oh I must be better now" then asking my parents how...

    Misophonia

Just wondering if anybody else suffers with this? I cannot stand certain sounds, the worst for me are: - People eating crisps or crunchy foods with their mouths open. Close your mouth! - People who smack their lips whilst eating. I don't care how tasty it is! - People who SHOUT ON THE TELEPHONE...

Weight the same but waist bigger?

I had my check up today. Jumped on the scales and was surprised to see my weight was the same as last time but I'm aware that I feel fatter and assumed I'd put on a few lbs. I am fatter, when the nurse measured my waist, 3cm bigger! But no weight gain So, weight the same but waist bigger. Do...

    Hello!

Hi everybody. I've been type 1 since the age of 8, exactly the age of 8! I was diagnosed on my 8th birthday in 1984. I turned 40 a couple of months ago and have always kept my diabetes pretty private. I figured now I'm in middle age and have suffered some eye problems a few years ago, I should...
