    Type 2 Why the discrepancy?

i shall speak to Dr on the phone next week in lieu of face to face, so can I ask this group to answer a question? I take my own HBP readings at home. This morning, the first one was 185\65, the second 183/65 and the third was 151/89. I usually take the best of three. When the top one has...

    Nausea in the afternoon

I am T2, on Metformin and insulin. I have some bad days where I struggle to eat, due to nausea. Other days, I am OK. I am trying to figure what triggers the nausea, which starts up around 3pm-ish onwards. For breakfast I always have tea and toast. A cup of tea and plain biscuit at 11.15am...

    Dislike of food

I have gone off food in the past couple of years. Sometimes if I look at a recipe in a magazine, I can feel my stomach rising. I really only eat to stop my readings going too low, so its a continual fight to eat something. It has to be bland, maybe a baked potato. Any tips? PS I am 77.

    Too high readings

I take novorapid during the day and 16 units of Lantus at bedtime. What makes my readings jump up to 20 about mid morning? I usually take around 8 units novorapid before breakfast ( tea and toast) and can't fathom out how it then jumps so high sortly afterwards? Do I need more Lantus?

    Too much insulin

Earlier this afternoon, I decided to have 4 measures of insulin, as I was going to have a plate of soup and small piece of bread. By mistake, I injected 12 in error. I quickly had the soup, bread, tea and chocolate biscuit and I feel OK, although a bit angry at myself. Did I do the right thing?

I am T2 on Novorapid and Lantus insulin and tablets. I have had 2 hypos in the past 12 hours, I really seem to be getting worse at working out how much insulin I need to inject. Is there any chance I could have the small container that Theresa has on her arm, which feeds her insulin as and...

After 10 years as T2, met and insulin, I have been diagnosed as having gastric erosion with acid in my stomach. What should I be aware of diet wise? I found a web page telling me to cut out all cereals and eat white ( not brown!) bread. Is there a book that will help me with meal choices? I...
