    Socks and victoza

Question in the title really. My dn says I should inform the dvla of a change in medication. Do I really? Victoza isn't insulin, and she says I can't have hypos. So experts what's the answer? I'm hoping she's wrong. GRRR, don't you just hate predictive text!!! How socks came up instead of dvla...

    Jardiance

Has anyone on jardiance noticed a dry cough while taking it? I stopped smoking a year ago, as did my cough. I've been on it less than a month and just started with a cough. A Google search brought up others who think its the jardiance, they are American sites though. Not sure how many of the...

    So...

4 weeks in, on very low carb, e.g. less than 20 and as low as 5 g per day, tiny weight loss and bs at 13. on my meter. I do keep trying with it. I'm going on empaglioflozin as of Friday, got to get that bs down. I don't know if 4 weeks is too early to see any movement, but 6 yrs of diabetes and...

So as the title suggests, has anyone been prescribed this? Anyone thinks it's a good pill? Can't tolerate metformin, it brings me out in hives. Ichf isn't working!!! 800 cals, very low carb, intermittent fasting for 4 weeks and zero weight loss, no difference in bs either.

    Uffe Ravnskov

Just got an email from Dr Kendrick, apparently the man in the title has a book out called 'Fat and Cholesterol Don’t Cause Heart Attacks And Statins are Not the Solution'. If you google Uffe Ravnskov he has a website that discusses Cholesterol and Statins, definitely worth a look.

    Allergic reaction to Metformin

I do have dodgy skin, in that I react to cosmetics and stuff. But recently I have had the most incredible itchy hives. On Dr Google one of the side affects is hives. My GP says no such thing. Has anyone else had a reaction to it, and is there anything I can take instead of Met? I've stopped...

    Dizziness

Has anyone felt or been dizzy whilst taking Metformin? I had a bout of dizziness and actually passed out while sitting minding my own business on the sofa. Gp tested for stroke etc, then sent me to A&E, after waiting 2 hours (not bad I know) I saw the nurse who advised waiting to see the Doc for...

Do you want to live to 120!

Apparently Metformin has been thought to increase life. They are doing trials on some elderly folk to see if this is the case. I'm sure some clever folk on here can find the link. Its been shown that diabetics on Metformin lived on average 8 yrs longer. However I don't want to live till I'm 120!.

Still not losing weight on very low carbs.

Ok, update. 21 days into very low carbing. Been on less than 20 grams of carb a day, - sometimes less. Calorie deficit also, I'm aiming for 1100 of calories a day and miss that by 200 sometimes. I've been doing HIIT and kettle bell on alternate days. No grain or wheat has passed my mouth. Just...

    No weight loss

Phew...just read through the thread that is about 3 months old, the one about Trudi Deakins book. Noticed someone had said that people lose weight on a lchf diet. I've said over again I haven't lost 1 lb. Many folk have been helpful in their advice, about why it wont shift. I have about 2 st to...
