My HBA1C has never been the best, best I got was back when I had my road accident and everything was closely monitored. Holiday Pump

Got my loan pump from Medronic today for my holiday next week. The email I got said not to take it out of it's packaging unless I need it. But is that the brown box that was delivered? Or is there another box inside that has the pump?

    Upcoming Holidays Abroad

So I've got a couple of holidays coming up; one to Denmark at the end of the month and one to Crete at the end of July. My questions/worries are focused mainly on the airports. I know that my pump, Medtronic 640G, can't go through the x-ray machines or the full body scanners but am I read that...

    One Month one

Just realised it's been about a month since I started on the pump. My doesn't time go quickly? Set changes I've got down to bout ten minutes now and so much more confident with them. My bloods, while still not perfect, are consistently lower then they were previously. Started doing my Basal...

I know the cannula is okay because my bloods do come down a little but never enough. Inputting all the correct carbs intp my...

    One week to go

Next tuesday I go live with insulin! Got my pump today and went through some the different functions on it (got the medtronic 640G), bit overwhelmed by it I have to admit. I'm looking forward to this new stage of my diabetes management but at the same time it feels like I'm veing diagnosed anew

    A choice has been made

Just come out of my appointment to look at the pumps I can choose. Went with the Medtronic 640G, was already leaning towards it but seeing the Accu-chek Insight's handset in action just solidified my decision. Looking at a May hookup if not sooner. Very happy and excited!!![emoji1]

    Postives and Negatives

Hey everyone, so I'm gonna be getting a pump, all very exciting and terrifying at the same time. Going to have the choice between the Medtronic and the Accu-Chek Insight. Just wondering what the pluses and the negatives are of each. I have to admit that I do like the sound of the Accu-Chek due...

Woke up this morning and tried to scan my sensor only to get back a Sensor Error stating that glucose reading is unavailable and to try back in 10 minutes. Any advice or is a call to Abbot in order?

    Flying with a Libre

Hi, I'm sure this has been raised before and I'm sure I've seen the answer but can't for the life of me remember what it is/ Is the libre fine to go through both the airport security scanner (not full body one) and the x-way machine in security? Flying after Christmas and I'll be wearing a...

    Prednisolone

So on top off my Diabetes I also have Ulcerative Colitis, an Irritable Bowel Disease, and on the whole the two pretty much peacefully co-exist. However, my Colitis decided, in the days running up to my birthday (27th Nov) to start playing up and led to a full blown flare up. All very nasty...

    Confused and Irritated

So, currently feeling confused and irritated at the moment. So this past week I've worked out that my adjustment ratio for my morning injection of novorapid is different from the rest of the day (atm, still working everything out really). I've worked out that my ratio in the morning is 1 unit to...

    Start towards a pump.

So I had a meeting today with my diabetic team and the option of a pump came up. I've been interested in one for a fair few years now and we talked about it and what I'd need to do in order to get in front of the panel to try and get one. In my case show a concentrated effort in my blood test...

    Bit of a wobble

Hey everyone, I just need to get this this out. I'm so tired of it all, the constant vigilance of my bloods, the constant worry of what's happening to them when I sleep, knowing without a shadow of a doubt that when I wake up I'm going to be in the teens once again and really struggle to get...

    BBQ advice

I could use some advice, going to a BBQ on Saturday and it's really the first one I'll have been to since I started to try and get serious again with my diabetes. I carb count and also doing a week with a CGMS so I need to write down all the stuff I eat, carbs, units etc. The thing I'm unsure...

    My mindset/problems

So I've already done an introductory thread but I need to get the following off my chest. I was diagnosed with type 1 when I was around 8 or 9 and I'm 26, nearly 27, now. At that point everything was very strict and I was a 'good' diabetic, my sugars were usally under control from what I can...
