Has anyone found a reliable strategy with beer?

Generally, each pint is 15-20g carbs. Mega high GI, almost as good as Lucozade for pushing my BGs up!

Best fast acting glucose whilst exercising (Cycling or running)

It’s mostly through exercise, but you’re right, I probably do need to review my basal. I’m DIY closed-looping and I’m not really sure how to do it.

Best fast acting glucose whilst exercising (Cycling or running)

Guess I rely on Dextrose for general control. I get through a packet every week or so for exercise or hypo avoidance, so they never go soggy or dry.

Stopping the Libre2 sensor from falling off???

I use these, since my Libre gets a bit loose when I get sweaty from exercise or going swimming. They work really well Not Just A Patch CGM Sensor... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07QX3N9QH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Best fast acting glucose whilst exercising (Cycling or running)

I’ve always used Dextro tablets. One tablet conveniently raises my my BGs by 1mmol/L, so it’s easy to predict how many I’ll need.

    Dexcom G6 vs Libre 2

Cool, thanks! I’ll ask my diabetes team as my CL is compatible with G7

    Dexcom G6 vs Libre 2

Excellent, thanks everyone. Yes, it’s for closed loop. I’m doing DIY looping and my consultant suggested the G6. I’m pretty ignorant but of CGMs, didn’t know there was a newer version

    Dexcom G6 vs Libre 2

I’m hoping to get a Dexcom G6, having been on the Libre 2 for many years. Has anyone else made this transition? What is the Dexcom like compared to the Libre (in terms of accuracy, alarms and other features)?

Ah my nemesis…a QA engineer :nailbiting: Agree with you entirely though!

Issue with Libre - blank screen

Yep, I agree. I’ve worked on complex clinical systems ant big pharma for 12 years and it can be challenging. On iOS, where the problems are, and where I’ve done some development, there are development app stores that you deploy to where testers download to any number of iOS versions and phone...

Issue with Libre - blank screen

This is such a shoddy rollout of an update. I work in software development and have done mobile app development. You need to test everything, including installation and updates on users phones. Very easy to do

    xDrip alternative for iPhone?

Wow, thank you so much for this. Absolutely exactly what I wanted!!

    xDrip alternative for iPhone?

Not to detract from another thread on here, but is there a way of making the Libre 2 a CGM on an iPhone, via an xDrip-like app? I.e. automatically update readings on my phone without having to scan. I previously used a Miao Miao, but found it had a mind of its own.

    Omnipod 5 - rollout in England 19 June 2023

I’ve heard that hospitals are offering it, despite NICE not having approved it; or at least not made an official announcement yet. Suggests to me that diabetes teams know the outcome of NICE’s recommendations.

    Libre 2 Sensor

I know people that have had problems with the Libre and their diabetes team put them on a Dexcom (a continuous glucose monitor, better all round than a Libre). So I’d get in touch with them if I were you

Wow, fantastic! Any online instructions/blogs/forum posts you can point me to?

    Omnipod DASH + Dexcom

I got into a conversation with a shop assistant today who said he had a closed loop system with an Omnipod DASH and a Dexcom. He’s new to diabetes, so details were sparse. Is this possible? I thought it was the Omnipod 5 that was closed loop, which I didn’t think was available yet.

    Low carb breakfast ideas

I have flaxseed muffins, batch making them on Sunday: 200g milled flaxseed 4tbsp baking powder 8tbsp splenda 4tbsp cinnamon 4 eggs 50ml almond milk (not sure on the exact amount, I just make it wet enough for it to be the right consistency; not too loose) Bake for 30 mins 2g carbs per muffin

Has anyone found a reliable strategy with beer?

Lean brew is very similar to Skinny IPA, so maybe it won’t be to your taste either :)
