I am having some tests for angina and in the meantime have been prescribed beta blockers to slow my heart rate down. Do they have an effect on glucose levels only I’ve been struggling to keep them down. It could be overindulging at Christmas too but just wondered. Thanks.

Type 1 Low Carb Program Trial

Hi. A while ago I expressed my interest in the low carb trial for type 1s. About a week ago I had an email asking me to fill out a survey I’d got most of the way through (I think) when it crashed but when I tried again it said I had already filled it out. I’ve not heard anything since despite...

    G4 Sensor,g5 Transmitter And Iphone

Probably a bit late to be asking as I’ve just inserted it but does a Dexcom G4 sensor and a G5 transmitter combination still work with the iPhone app? My DSN gave me four free G4 sensors but I’ve been using g5s so far. Guess I’ll find out in an hour and a half!!!

Hi everyone I’m still on my first Dexcom G5 sensor but it has now been going for 29 days so I’m into the 5th week. It isn’t showing any sign of failing yet but would it be best to change it now? I have just taken delivery of a Dexcom G5. I was a bit reluctant as I had a Dexcom 7 way back and it just would not stay stuck for more than 4 days. Anyway I’ve taken the plunge. Does anyone use their arms? I’ve been using a Freestyle Libre with no problems sticking so wondered if my arms...

    Struggling at the gym

I have discovered that my bg goes REALLY high when I go to the gym but I think I know what's going on. Because I'm nervous of going low I'm reducing basal and bolus insulin, but then doing weights which is more anaerobic. The bg does drop quite quickly about 6-8 hours later. So...

I don't normally watch Hollyoaks but I heard about the Type 1 storyline and watched the two episodes it covered. So this young man goes into an empty garage and puts his test kit, pen, and sandwich on the side. Then he gets in an old car and can't get out cos the door is broken. Several...
