    Scary Hypo, advice really welcomed.

Hi guys, I have had a few Hypo's before, I normally can tell when I go as low as 4mmol, I get a rush of warmth and breathless a bit, feels like I am a bit manic and over excited. I have had these when on Gliclazide and Pioglitazone which was stopped due to water retention. Anyway I still take...

    Testing Strips

I have been getting Freestyle Testing Strips from my GP since I was diagnosed, I get 50 in a pack and normally get this monthly. I don't think there would ever be any problem getting more, and I have had more since being on Insulin, but can you get them in larger quantities at all? Is there a...

Spaced out - is this Insulin?

I just put yesterday's spacey feeling down to 'one of those days' but today it is worse. Is this the Lantus? or could it be the Amytriptaline? I would have thought such a low dose of Amy shouldn't really leave you spacey but this is getting to be difficult.

Only just noticed this area of the forum...

Silly me!! Recently started Lantus injections 28 units daily at dinner time. Also on Bydureon once weekly injections. Also on Gliclazide. Recently lost a ton of weight but it doesn't appear to have helped by diabetes, yet, but still losing so hopefully should come good soon.

    Unwanted effects?

The following information is on the leaflet and website that comes with Bydureon: Make sure your doctor knows if you are also using insulin. You should not use prandial insulin (such as Apidra®, Lantus®) while you are using this medicine. Using these medicines together may cause unwanted...

    New Regime

Right so back from hospital, DSN was surprised about my GP's decision to put me on Canoglaflixin (or however it's spelt) but I said to her he wanted me to try this to get my sugars down until the DSN could put me onto insulin. She said why hasn't he prescribed insulin, I replied that he as...

    Has anyone tried canagliflozin?

Saw my GP on Friday because of a very annoying feeling of hot water being poured over my foot, which turned out to be the start of nerve problems due to the high glucose levels I have been experiencing. Anyway I am picking up a new medicine tomorrow called canagliflozin. Apparently it works by...

    Feet

Hi, if you have seen any of my posts in the fasting readings thread, I have had very high readings for quite some time now. I am being treated and things are improving, but I have had a real problem with my foot this week and I am wondering am I going mad or is this also related to my condition...

    Back from my GP Appointment...

Well I went and he was great. Basically I took Gliclazide a while ago and it worked, so he has added this to my medication regime from today along with the Bydureon. The Glic should work quite quickly and we know it worked before with no effects on my tummy so I am on 80mg twice a day. I have to...

    Phantom Hypos

Hi there, currently on Bydureon once a week injections for uncontrolled Type 2. I used to take Gliclazide, and Pioglitazone, and I would occasionally get a hypo coming on. Nothing bad, I recognised the signs and dealt with it. The thing is, today in work I felt the exact feeling of a massive...

    Bydureon (Week 5)

Hi there, I was diagnosed type 2 just under 2 years ago now. I have been unable to take Metformin due to stomach issues, even the XR version. I was successfully given Gliclazide but it was a little too good and I was moved to Januvia. Nothing seemed to work, was given saxagliptin, then...

Struggling, could do with some advice.

Diagnosed type 2 18 months ago, initially given Metformin and Gliclazide as sugars approx 17mmol fasting. Decided to low carb, as I had done it before for health reasons, but mixed with Gliclazide ended up with a very low HbA1c so doc took me off the Glic. Taken off Metformin as it interfered...

    Gliclazide and Naproxen

Hi, can you help at all? I have recently had a bad viral cold/flu type infection which has left me with what the doctor termed as Acute Arthritis. He said it should improve as the virus leaves my system but he prescribed 500mg Naproxen for the pain, all of my finger joints are sore and swollen...

    Side effects of GLiclazide

Hi, I don't know if the current issues I am having are side effects of the new medication and wondered if anyone else had experienced this? Basically as soon as the medication has begun to lower my blood sugar I am freezing cold. I was sitting in bed with three layers on a blanket around me and...

    Tomorrow's appointment

Hi, I wondered if anyone might be able to help. With a fasting reading of 17.9, an inability to stomach Metformin and a visit to a special Diabetes GP, he seems to think I have Lada Diabetes. I have been on 80mg of Gliclazide twice a day since Monday and have had readings of between 12.5-14.5...

    Lada? Diabetes

Hi all, just trying to make sense of a few things this evening. After being diagnosed with Type II Diabetes just over a week ago, it now seems that I might have something called Lada? I initially saw my own GP but have now been seen by a specialist Diabetic GP within our practice and he feels...

    Looking for support

Hi all, Sallybear here. I have long suspected I have type 2 Diabetes, and finally managed to get the guts to see my GP. I had a blood test yesterday and was told it would take 1-2 weeks for the test results. They took 5 different bottles of blood to test for all sorts, it was a fasting test, and...
