    Primal Paleo Keto Healing Books

All the Primal lifestyle books helped me rethink the low fat and high carb diets, even (or especially) for those with pancreas issues, as that was the reason my pancreas got into trouble in the first place. I take prescription pancreatic enzymes with my meals to help break down the healthy fats...

Type 3c - how many are we?

It is scary how little focus there is on the nutrition, nutrition deficiencies, and all the impacts from exocrine pancreatic insufficiency side of the pancreas and malabsorption (lacking enzymes, bile, messed up microbiome etc.). Sadly, I had to learn from reading a few books on what to do as...

a book project on type 3c

Hi Lee, Here is the list of books that really helped me: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/forum/posts/2111414/ With some of the symptoms you mentioned, the exocrine (EPI) side with subsequent nutrient deficiencies and many other symptoms seem to be the least covered or understood by doctors. The...

Experiencing heartburn following low carb diet

It will take a bit of time for the body to get used to the change in diet and it sounds like you are doing the right thing! If fat digestion becomes more of a problem you could look into pancreatic enzymes (Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) to help digest them.

Experiencing heartburn following low carb diet

Mint is one of the triggers for heartburn. Chocolate and coffee also. Better avoid those during this period.

Exercise works sometimes but not others

I also sometimes have that, but there are many variables including our circadian rhythm. Even whether I had coffee with the meal sometimes (but not always) has an impact. Instead, I will mess around with a few dumbbells to bring the level down.

    Quick solution for burnout?

Sorry you are going through this. Are you able to do a brisk walk or bike ride outside? Counterintuitive that it will provide energy I know, but the extra blood flow, oxygen and fresh air tends to help me.

    Type 2 14 hour fasting

I am one of those and just call that a regular day. :) It is good practice to give your pancreas and digestive system a rest.

    Rice

Have you looked into supplements like Ubiquinol (CoQ10), carnitine, magnesium? Have you checked whether you are deficient in any nutrients? Eating enough healthy fats?

    Morning nausea

One thing that many doctors overlook and have little clue about is the exocrine pancreas side. Many with diabetes will also have some impact on the exocrine function but rarely is it tested for and most will not even realize. Pancreas enzymes are needed to break down food into usable nutrients...

    Lifestyle Changes

Bought a bunch of books on the subject, listened to tons of health podcasts and dove into the primal lifestyle.

Losing weight fast - What to eat?

Regarding food, there is a lot of improvement that can be made as was already mentioned. There is a surprising amount of sugar and chemicals in what you are eating. Are you eating enough healthy fats? Perhaps add some nuts, seeds, avocado, real cheese as snacks. You can add more non-starchy...

Does anyone find that milk puts up blood sugar?

I stopped drinking milk for that reason. Certainly low fat milk is just not healthy. Even unsweetened cream has sugar/carbs and I notice the impact on the meter. Coffee with cream is for some people a double hit as caffeine can also raise BG for some.

What are your best tricks to get your fasting blood glucose down?

Peter Attia has great info and is also part of the Primal lifestyle movement. I think it was Attia who had written an article about glycogen stores and exercise. Also Jason Fung has some good presentations on how it will take a while for the liver to adapt after changing to a lower carb...

Prediabetic BG but underweight, seeking advice.

Glad to see you had a good result. Nausea after eating was also something I had due to the exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. The old saying really is worthwhile: "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper," Regarding the cravings in the afternoon, that is very...

Prediabetic BG but underweight, seeking advice.

Just like I mentioned to the original poster tpower, have you been tested to rule out exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI)? One reason why you may still feel hungry is if you are not properly breaking down your food into nutrients. Another idea is that you are just not eating enough...

NEWBIE-NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE ON DIET AND BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS

In my case it was a combination of things as I also had undiagnosed exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) that caused havoc with blood sugar regulation. Nutrient deficiencies caused by EPI took a while to rebalance. Now that I have EPI under control, I watch what I eat very closely, as well as...

NEWBIE-NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE ON DIET AND BLOOD SUGAR LEVELS

Since a lot has been said already about your food elements, except perhaps looking into nutritional ketosis (a simple measuring device can help here), another couple of thoughts to take into consideration. Coffee spikes my blood sugar, which is not the case for many people, but it is a known...
