    So.....about bulletproof coffee?

I've read a lot of people doing keto like to drink bulletproof coffee. This means coffee with cream, butter and maybe MCT oil. My question is if you add a couple of packets of artificial sweeteners (like say Splenda), how does that change anything? The artificial sweeteners have no carbs. I...

    New Coke Zero

Anyone else tried it, and find it isn't as good as the old formula? After diagnosis two and a half years ago, I cut out regular soft drinks for obvious reasons. Needed to find a diet cola that I liked. Really liked Coke Zero, and now Coke has changed the formula and I don't like it as well...

    Anyone experience muscle twitching?

I have had muscle twitching problems for years. Went to a neurologist several years before become diabetic, and everything checked out ok. I was likely prediabetic at the time. I'm just wondering if diabetes has anything to do with it. More than that, I am curious if anyone else has...

    Any suggestions for burning feet?

I was diagnosed about 18 months ago. No noticeable symptoms at diagnosis. Went low carb and quickly lowered my numbers into a non-diabetic A1C range within a few months. About 6 weeks in to it, I had an acute onset of burning type pain in my feet. It just showed up one day. No numbness...

    Diet sodas

No carbs and no sugar. Doesn't raise my blood sugar at all. However, some say they make you hungry. I'm starting to think this is true. Need to break this habit. Thoughts?

Worried about changes in blood sugar readings

I was diagnosed as a type 2 last April. Got my levels back to normal in a few months time, and they have stayed there for the last 8 months. For the past week, my fasting as well as my post meal readings have been running about 20 percent higher. I really haven't done anything different. Is...

Do your afternoon fasting numbers vary much?

Since diagnosis, and lowering my numbers to normal range, my late afternoon numbers are usually 85-99 mg/dl range. For the past 4 or 5 days, they have hovered around 120. Is this a concern?

Anyone here recover from burning feet and/or hands?

I was diagnosed last April. Quickly lowered my levels to normal range with LCHF. Have managed to stay there. Started getting a burning type of pain in feet about 6 weeks AFTER diagnosis (as numbers lowered). Hands aren't as bad, but feel warm at times. I know it takes time, but I'm hoping...

    Pain in feet

I’m dealing with a burning/aching feeling in feet. No numbness. Diagnosed last April with no symptoms. Pain started as blood sugar normalized. Pain has been there for about 6 months now. Varies in intensity. Worse after walking a lot. A1C at 5.2% last two checks. For those that had...

    Snacking

It seems that most suggest no snacks between meals. Intermittent fasting is also becoming more popular. Problem is I get hungry. How many of you have a low carb snack in the middle of the afternoon? Is that a bad thing?

    Normal B12 ranges.....same for all?

I had my B12 levels checked. They are at 682. Flag range is like 200-900. So, I am squarely in normal ranges. That being said, I have heard of some people feeling better at higher ranges. I also noticed my B12 two years ago was at like 1800. Thoughts? Should I supplement?

Worried about time spent with high blood sugar levels

So looking back at past blood tests, it appears that I spent about a year in the diabetic level range before I was diagnosed. I have managed to quickly lower my A1c from 8.5% at diagnosis, to 5.9% after three months of LCHF, and I am now at 5.2%. Wondering how much damage I might have done in...

    Anyone else get muscle twitching?

I've had random, widespread muscle twitches for over 3 years now. Got it checked out by a neurologist almost 3 years ago, and was given the all clear. Didn't get diagnosed as diabetic until this past April, and I know I wasn't in the diabetic range for more than a year prior to that due to...

Still fairly new.....and still trying to come to terms with this

I have been on the boards for a couple of months now. What a great group of people! Thanks for all of your help. I was diagnosed in April. I had been in the mid range of pre-diabetic for a few years right around 6.0% a1c. After a very stressful time period, I was diagnosed in April at 8.5%...
