    Why potassium and magnesium?

So low carb fixed my HbA1c but there is still stuff going on. I've got low vit D and low potassium. Potassium supplements have really helped with numbness and tingling in lips, arms and feet (within 24 hours). I've seen around the forum talk of a combined potassium/magnesium requirement can...

    Other things

so I'm managing my T2 diabetes so far with diet but some issues have surfaced. Possible these issues have become visible as diabetes takes a background role. One is gallbladder stones, yes I've got them. I had three attacks (since Christmas), a scan confirmed gallstones. I have vit D deficiency...

ok so 5 months in to LCHF and progress is good, HbA1c at 3 months good, self testing good (still a little high at fasting) weight loss good (7 kilo). Eating a bit off. I'm struggling with appetite (it's dropped off) not a big deal as I still need to lose weight but trying to be...

why did I feel so unwell with relatively "low" blood sugar?

general question...I have friends who are type 1 and "dream of an HbA1c of 6.6" they don't notice high sugars until much later (around 10 fasting!), I also have friends who are type 2 and also don't feel unwell at higher levels (although they have noticed night time piddles). So I'm asking...

High blood pressure response to lCHF, what to expect?

Good morning all:) I'm interested in hearing about other peoples' experience of LCHF effects on blood pressure and specifically hypertension. Eating to the meter, T2 no drugs

Quick background: recently diagnosed T2, trying diet to fix it. Went very low carb 2 1/2 weeks ago, I'm feeling so good it's a bit scary :-) (I was feeling pretty sick although my BG only just crossed the diagnosis line HbA1c 6.6% or 49 for the first time 2 1/2weeks ago) Today I tried tomatoes...

    Forum Survey plus meter choice

Hi, didn't really know how to report this so "Off-Topic" it is. I just tried to complete the forum survey but there was no option for being diagnosed this year, only goes to 2018, so I guess it needs updating. Also when completing my profile the choice of meters didn't include mine and was...

    Lancet technique

Some (much) guidance required. I cannot get this lancet thingy sorted. I'm using an accu-chek fastclix (stupid spelling) if I go low on setting e.g. 2 or 3 I don't get a nice drop of blood (for Dracula my meter), if I go to 4 or 5 I get bruises on my fingers. What am I doing wrong? Thanks CoP

    I'm sick

I've been feeling pretty rubbish for years, type 2 diagnosis felt like just another blow. Yet it's also a possible answer. I'm sick, really sick, I'm not imagining this. Diet change (low carb and fasting) in one week has made me feel so much better. Can it really be as simple as this?

    Coffee fashion

So today I went to a trendy coffee shop in London and asked if they did coffee with cream (thinking low carb), after some confusion we established they have milk substitutes (soya and almond) and do full fat milk, they don't do cream. I was wondering if anybody has experienced a coffee shop that...
